Paragon Guantlet Key Missing

So I completed last months eq and acquired the key. I couldn't use it since I had already completed it because of the situation that allowed summoners to access it early at reset. I had the key sitting in my inventory until today. Now I don't have that key, and I thought it would stay indefinitely until I use that key at every new monthly cycle? Could someone correct me on this?

    You need to get a new key every month for every new gauntlet that comes out
