Can I change my alliance and still participate in the banquet event?

I would like to change my alliance and I want to know whether changing it now will render me to not be able to participate in the banquet event. Someone please tell me whether I can change my alliance now or not

    Anyway, if you were to join an alliance on December 7th, you cannot start participating in the Banquet event until December 21st (14 days after you join, so if you joined on the 8th, you can start participating on the 22nd and so on). So don't buy anything on the 20th, but any GBC's you buy on or after the 21st will give you points and let you get the alliance rewards.
