I want Dormammu or Gambit

I literally have played and spent more on this game than I normally would and I do enjoy it but I will absolutely set it down if I can’t even get a greater chance of getting a character I actually care about that is legitimate to fight with. I want a 3-5 Star Gambit or Dormammu so badly it hurts

Otherwise grinding out the champ you want in arena is the only way you can get one reliably.
Not sure why you want these champs, whether they are your favorites or something, Dorm is very good, but difficult to use, gambit is less good, awkward to use and suffered from the diminishing returns from 12.0.
Good luck though buddy.
What is diminishing returns?
Alternately, Featured crystals allegedly grant a higher chance to win the two Featured champs within; but you'll have to look to someone else to get an idea of drop rates as I generally don't use units to buy hero crystals.
Good luck getting your champions - Gambit is a perfectly okay champ, and can be fun to play with. So long as the champ isn't completely rubbish (step forward Carnage...) I recommend playing with the characters you enjoy rather than the 'most powerful'.
What's difficult about Dormammu?

The only ting to do is earn more cyrstyal shards but progessing more and joining a good alliance. It is all luck so all you can do is earn more crystals to get more chances.
My best advice is not try and not want specific characters badly... it will ruin your experience. Always expect something bad or just try to have not expectations at all... this will REALLY help you enjoy the game more.
Oh one more thing.... NEVER spin crystals (especially PCHs). They are only there to tease you with 4*s and champs you might want. So yeah... best to never spin them if you are the type to really hope for certain champs.
Best of luck!
Dorm is just complicated to use.
Especially since the OP sounds like he’s pretty new.
Having the imbues for each move, power drain combos, heavy debuffs and all the other stuff he has going on, to be used effectively, he’s a big learning curve.
He’s not just a smash all the buttons champ like hulk.
Cool story.
A lot of people don’t share that view. Gambit was my favourite from the 90’s cartoon.
He was suave. His power set was fun, and his relationship with Rogue was complicated.
Interesting. I find him pretty easy to play and I'm not particularly good at this game. Just spam MM combos til I get ready for an imbued ability then right to SP2. Between that and more MM combos, that's usually good to power lock someone for just about the entire fight, with them never even sniffing SP2, unless it's a crazy power gain guy like Hyp or a power gain node. With power burn his SP2 does pretty decent damage, but I'm not all that worried about it cause of power lock anyway. There are tons of fights where my opponent never crosses 1 bar of power until I'm in the middle of my combo to get to SP2. He can absolutely WRECK Magik, whom I know a lot of people hate fighting.
I actually find Hulk slightly more complicated to play cause I'm usually trying to balance getting as close to SP2 as I can without crossing that threshold but still making sure I have at least one fury going when I SP1 so I can run a long chain stun. I mean I am not saying Hulk is hard to play, but there are more things I am trying to keep track of.
Guys like beast or nightcrawler with different modes, or Voodoo for whom you need to keep track of your combo count, are champs I'd consider difficult or complicated to play.
DISCLAIMER: I don't play super high level content, so maybe the stuff you guys have described is more of an issue there, but with power lock and immunities I tend to do better with Dormammu than most of my other champions against tougher opponents too. Does suck when SP2 gets blocked, though.
