In arena, I saw this icon on my champs. My arena trio:
Scorpion
Prof X
Cap Marvel

Their trio:
Ultron
Guilly99
Warlock

I imagine it has something to do with the tech synergy for the opponent, but I didn’t see anything explicit in each synergy.
