Question on Kindred

Is a 7-star Unawakened Kindred worthy of a R1-R2 gem? I basically plan on using him for offense. TIA.

    No he's not that great on offense but hes useful against buff heavy matchup. He's a defender so you can rank him for BG defense if you like but your Kindred is unawakened so I would go with the awakened version so save your resources.

    Kindred is great against Maestro FYI. There's a ton of them on AW boss island. So far, he's the only champ I've been able to manage a Maestro boss solo with (I don't have Kushala).

    Ngl i took him as a 6* to r4 for offensive purposes. Poison, incinerate, heal block immunity are all great for HS/the many heal block nodes there are. He degens opponents and regens, meaning he has a guaranteed DOT on any champion he faces, sustain as well to save potions, and in his aura he gains a stun immunity which can be a nice safety net particularly for the BS parries AI tends to go for. From what I’ve experienced, his special damage is really solid as well. I dont see why he wouldn’t be considered an attacker just because he’s a good defender. Many people are aware champs like this have the capability and that there’s better options for attacking, but he is still an attacker nonetheless who excels against cosmic defenders as most mystics do, and potentially good for more.

    As for if you want to r2 him for attack, i would recommend not ranking a champion for only 1 focus unless that’s something you truly need/want or focus on solely. However he is really good in BGs, especially this meta, and more metas onward, as well as a good war champion for defense or offense. Definitely worth it imo but consider all your options still.

    I got a question about his degen. What champs counter it? Even when I use torch in bg I still get degen near the end even if I’m countering specials. Any other way to stop his timer?

    And I do not disagree on that fact since most of them except Kushaala are already ranked up. My question here was purely related to Kindred and what the community's thoughts were around that.
