Thanos' adopted children and right hand followers. Corvus, Proxima, Maw, and Cull Obsidian.
We all know that Corvus is still a beast to this day, especially in those short to medium fights.
Maw is an annoying defender to fight, especially in BGs when you don't have a good counter to his mechanics.
But what about Proxima Midnight and Cull Obsidian? Are they still viable in content? Do they need tuneups/buffs?

@Viper198787 Not to mention his nerf, which was unecessary.

    Corvus was never good imo.

He is just overrated since day 1. Like, Yes he has cheat death mechanics but his ramp up is painful and not worth it.
He is just a aq champ for me.

@captain_rogers you clearly haven’t played him yet.

I'd say both of them need buffs. Proxima's kit is pretty good, but she just isn't viable for most everest content. She probably needs some slight tweaks to her kit, but nothing major. Cull on the other hand needs a major buff, as his kit just isn't viable in the current climate of the game

I do played him, without suicides. He is of no use to me even in his prime time (2020). Good for aq, yeah definitely, but general questing? There are lot of other options.

Not to mention he is useless in bgs with zero charges. You only got few hits to deal and have to wait for 50 seconds literally. His cheat death was great but one can always use immune champs. He is irrelevant these days, for sure. But I believe he is overrated since the beginning.

Yes Corvus is pretty much unusable in meta content today. Still, the way you're all talking about him strongly suggests you didn't run Recoil. One of his most useful abilities was not taking damage from bleed debuffs; and Willpower healing instead.

Corvus and Proxima have both suffered from the game changing around them.

Corvus can't cope with healthpools vastly extending beyond his reach, and as a ramp-up champion he's built in a way that means he simply doesn't work for Battlegrounds. It might be interesting to see what he can do in Incursions...

Proxima has never been allowed to shine. Damage caps have seen to that. She's got a bit of utility, mainly on blocking; which can counter a few tricky opponents (Onslaught giving you trouble, with his Daunted debuff and block-penetrating ****? Proxima ignores all that...)

Both could be 'fixed' with minor Tune-ups (hey, Kabam, how about working this up for when Nameless Thanos arrives?)
    - Corvus mainly just needs his Sig tweaked (reduce the cooldown and remove the nonsense about spending all your charges in 30s, since that's actively encouraging a poor playstyle) to start being useful in quests/Incursions. Adding some kind of ability during cooldown wouldn't hurt, either.
-Prox needs more versatility in her damage to bypass damage caps in Everest content. This would need more of a rework - I've left a suggestion for a Proxima rework here (which @EdisonLaw will have seen already) if anyone's interested: https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/comment/2426467/#Comment_2426467

Corvus can be buffed in the way that either he have 30 charges or his base damage is what he have at 1 charge

i remembered watching cowhale's gameplay on cull during his release , and while the ramp up process can be a pain , his damage was unreal . that nerf ( well he was broken af at that time tbh , and kabam also give us rank down ticket, so i can't blame kabam) killed him brutally. It is just his parry heavy gameplay paired with his block prof level of modok makes him useless in nowadays content . At least buff his block prof kabam...

We need a proper Thanos in game also...

@SmasherM86 @Magrailothos Deathless Thanos is probably the final deathless champ

I forgot about cull and proxima. They screwed both of them over tbh. Proxima has never been able to shine and Cull was barely discussed after the nerf

@Magrailothos I don’t run recoils since my top champs aren’t recoil friendly.

Yeah, me neither (usually - I have them unlocked for special occasions).

But it's an important consideration for a lot of champions; and it's one of the big reasons for strongly different perspectives on certain champions. That's what I was thinking of, when I saw people saying Corvus was never that good: I struggle suspect that they didn't play him with Double Edge; which means he gets a huge damage boost, and heals up from Willpower every fight.

If you run Recoil Masteries, champions like Hercules, Corvus, Immortal Abomination, Ultron, Zemo, Clare Voyant and Elsa (oh god, Elsa on defence with Double Edge!) move from good to amazing.

Diablo and Omega Red move from pretty good to truly Next Level. They're insanely good with Liquid Courage or Double Edge, respectively.

On the other hand, champs who need to throw a lot of Specials (like Gorr or Shocker) become much less appealing with Recoil Masteries. Whilst champions like Daredevil HK becomes borderline unplayable, as he loses far too much health.

Corvus remains an elite level AW attacker if given the right set up, I don't even run ouchie masteries and still find him very useful.

What really killed him in questing was the shift to gigantic health pools and 6 champ paths that began in Act 7, he was very useful in the original Act 6.

I’ve always liked Cull. He was one of my first 5* champs. He can be fun in incursions but he probably won’t get you to zone 25.

I’d love to see him and Proxima get a tune up to make them more relevant. Maybe give them some synergy updates with Corvus and Thanos to help them too so a full Black Order team could be used for something.

Arguably, his rebalance made him easier to ramp up.

I liked Cull back then and still like him now but he really can't survive with content like in act 8 because his block prof is so low. It's a shame because he has really good damage.

    Maybe when Deathless Thanos comes?

@Demonzfyre His health pool is quite high though? I checked Auntm.ai and it’s 24tb in the cosmic class? Obviously not quite as tanky as someone like Thanos or Maestro

Sure but when you take damage even with parry more than most, health doesn't matter.
