Magic Thief Saga Champions

In the blog post about "Sagas", they mentioned that X-Magika will be the first saga introduced, then gave us a list of attack tactic champs. But then theres given something called "Defense Tactic - Magic Thief Champions"

Are these "Magic Thief" champions also going to get the boost this upcoming month and can we use the Saga rank up gems/sig stones that we're getting these upcoming month on them as well or are these "Magic Thiefs" for a future month. I am kinda led to believe its for this upcoming March month since Cul Borson is highlighted as a part of the "Magic Thiefs" but it would be nice to know (Mainly for the items like gems/sigs i can use and the boosts)

Both X-Magica and Magic Thiefs are saga tags. The reason they say "Saga tags such as X-Magica" is because currently we have X-Magica and Magic Thiefs, next month we will have something else. They are starting with Arena Saga and it's 3 month event. Next month it could be AW saga with 2 new tags.

So in short, Rankups rewards and Boost apply to all saga tags (currently X-Magica and Magic Theifs)

So if one doesn't want to use his rank up gem now, than can he wait for 3 months for next saga champs and use these gems on him. It feels confusing.

So is Magic Thiefs a part of X-Magica?

A Saga R4 gem will be applicable to current month as well as next month but the pools will change. They might award more of these from other modes. Say atleast one each month for each pool.

This month is about arena saga, any rankup materials that you earn from special arena milestones will apply to both the tags for this month. Next month, you will get other tags and their applicable rankup items using say AW, AQ or Incursion milestones. You don't have to wait if you don't like current pools. Best is to use rankup materials for each saga pool each month. But this needs mod confirmation.

As per my understanding, X-Magica Saga includes X-Magica and Magic Theif tag. Just that names of saga and first tag matches.

It could be because I'm tired, but I'm pretty sure this is not correct at all.

Saga tagged champions are 3 month periods of time. So the saga pool won't change for 3 months. All saga-themed sigs and rankup material gained will only affect the champions in the saga you got it from. (Think of it like the 2015 r4 gems where the pool is set in stone forever). Hope that helps clear the air.

Saga champs are linked to AW as far as I can tell. Tags champs for AW last for 2 seasons. If you take the 2 AW seasons and the off season time, it adds up to 3 months. So I think the tags rotate with AW season cadence
