Is kindred needs high sig?

My kindred is duped in crystal opening. Is he needs high sig as a defender? Also tell me some mystic champions that are of same tier in offense to kindred.

    He will be a better defender the more sigs he has because it increases his degen damage as well as have his root in his 5% hp remaining last more time and make him get down way slower
    His max degen increase is 80%( just being sig 100 gets him 70% out of 80%) an his max root time is 6 seconds( at sig 100 is 4 seconds)

    I think kindred is a bit under-rated on attack against fights designed to take. Still not a great attacker. I have a r3 so I'm usually punching down but against a r2 maestro I will win most of the time unless they are using cgr or kushala against my r2 maestro.
