Chee’ilth Not Purifying

I wasn’t sure if I should put this in the “bugs section or the general section, but just in case this is a bug I thought here would be best.

I recently pulled Chee’ilth and have been playing with her quite regularly. After reading more into her kit, she gains her 2 purify charges at the start of every fight, and the description for them says “as well as at the start of each fight, sister eagle grants 2 indefinite cleanse passives”

When you click on “cleanse”, it describes it as “when a champion with cleanse is inflicted with a debuff, it is immediately purified and the cleanse is removed”

Finally to my question. If she begins the fight with cleanse and it’s supposed to immediately purify debuffs, why isn’t the bleed and poison from running liquid courage and double edge being purified at the start of the fight?

It seems to me that this is a bug, because with her starting the fight with 2 cleanse passives, it makes her perfect for running those masteries if she were to purify the debuffs. Hopefully someone can provide an answer, or at least get a conversation going in the community until we get one.

Thanks for reading!

I would also like to add the fact the Nick Fury has a synergy called “restoration kit” with the Deadpool’s, and it essentially says the same thing as Chee’ilths cleanse description. This synergy purifies one of the debuffs from liquid courage or double edge, so Chee’ill should technically be able to purify both of the debuffs.

The explanation is that the bleed and poison technically trigger before she gains her cleanse. The bleed and poison are always there, even when the champ is running across the screen, but cleanse doesn’t activate until “Fight!” Shows. That’s why she can’t do anything about it. Nick’s synergy works because it triggers at any time. It’s different than cleanse.

The restoration kit is a cleanse and it’s the same exact thing, it purifies the debuff. The bleed and poison are already there and that synergy purifies one after the fight starts.

Someone also just informed me that Zemo purifies the bleed and poison from double edge and liquid courage, and his cleanse abilities say the same exact thing as Chee’ilth.

This is looking more like a bug to me.

It is specifically stated in her kit that she can't purify Recoil tree debuffs. Unlike zemo who can actually purify recoil tree debuffs.

But this info is only available on her spotlight but not in game. In other words, it's not a bug, she is working as intended

So definitely confirmed to not be a bug. The difference between Zemo and Che’ilth is that Zemo gains his cleanse on fight ENTRY, whereas Che’ilth gains them at the START of the fight. Which goes with my first comment that Che’ilth’s cleanses come after the bleed and poison are triggered

This doesn’t seem right at all. It says that in the Dev notes for Chee’ilth, but when you read Zemo’s, they don’t mention anything about purifying debuffs at the start of the fight, only debuffs inflicted throughout the fight. Also, in game, their abilities both say the same thing. Only difference is Zemo gains 5 cleanse passives and Chee’ilth gains 2 cleanse passives. The definition for cleanse is given by Kabam and shouldn’t change from one champ to the other. If she’s working as intended, then Kabam needs to fix the description on these champions, but as of right now, I still believe Chee’ilth should be operating the same way Zemo does. It doesn’t make sense for her to not.

@Maratox it ain't that deep. Cleanse normally purifies recoil tree debuffs and other debuffs that trigger at start of fight.

So what happens for Zemo is normal and intentional. But for cheelith, Kabam specifically excluded recoil tree debuffs to be purified. It's her design.

@Thecoregasm Yes kabam should change the description for cheelith, but the design for cheelith is intentional. It seems like kabam wanted to not make her recoil friendly, but still wanted her to have good purify abilties.

If you want to test whether cheelith is working correctly or not, Take her against tech ultron drone (you can find it on Ultrons assault Variant). Tech ultron drone applies a spectre debuff at start of fight, If cheelith is able to purify it, Then there is no bug.

Just tested it, and she does not purify it.

Their descriptions are not the same. Zemo says “fight entry” and Che’ilth says “at the start of the fight.” They are different things.
