Prime Gaming Reward: QR Code Opens App Store, Cannot Redeem Reward

BloodyRoseBloodyRose Member Posts: 229
When I attempt to claim my White Tiger Prime Gaming Rewards by scanning the QR code, the App Store opens to the MCOC app page instead of opening the app. I have not found a way to redeem the rewards by scanning the QR code. However, on the MCOC Prime Gaming page it shows that I have already collected the rewards, even though I don't have the rewards.

STEPS:
Go to https://gaming.amazon.com/home
Enter "Contest of Champions" in the Search Prime Gaming box.
Click on the Fantastic White Tiger bundle tile.
Open the camera app on your iPhone
Scan the QR code and tap on the amazon link.

EXPECTED RESULTS:
The MCOC app launches and you can redeem the reward

ACTUAL RESULTS:
The App Store opens to the MCOC app page. Tapping on Open will open MCOC but will not allow you to collect the reward.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
I closed and restarted the camera, MCOC and tried again with the same results.
I shutdown my phone and restarted the camera, MCOC and tried again with the same results.

System Info:
MCOC Version: 1307642
iOS: 17.2.1
Device: iPhone 12 Pro

What browser were you using ?

Best to use the one that is native to the OS/device (Chrome on Android, or Safari on Apple), instead of additionally installed browser.

Those are more likely to open the actual MCOC App (as needed for this to work), instead of linking to the App Store.

    Update:
I received the "Your Prime Gaming claim is confirmed" email, but still no rewards.

I tried with Safari, FireFox AND Chrome. Same results using all browsers.

Is Safari ALSO the browser that is setup to be used by your Camera / QR scanner ?

Or just the browser that you initially use at the beginning (going to Amazon Gaming site at first) ?

Safari is default for the camera which I changed for testing. And, I also pasted the link from the code into the different browsers with the same results.

Update: I logged into Prime Gaming in the browser on the iPhone and clicked on the "Redeem in-game" button and am having the same issue. The App Store opens and not the MCOC app.

No. It's a different email addresses. That really shouldn't matter because when you claim the reward in your prime account you don't get any in-game notification, like when you get the free crystals in the Summoner's Market. Totally disconnected. It's the QR code that SHOULD open the app where you are logged in to your Kabam account and trigger the in-app reward .

Question for (SUCCESSFUL) people using newly discovered method of PRESS-N-HOLD on the Blue “REDEEM IN-GAME” button shown in pics above..

Are these screens different now than what they had been originally when first made (couple months ago) ?

Wonder if @Kabam Miike had them enhance this Button (or even the whole screen ?) to add the Press-n-Hold pop-up screens method, to more directly let you say “Open in MCOC” ? Because of earlier issues with having to make sure you were using the correct browser, or else it was opening the App/Play Store instead.

So that now you can directly tell it how to open.

(**suggestion, Kabam should add wording somewhere there to say that you can do that Press-n-Hold)

    Same issue still exist.
Unable to claim Prime rewards. QR code scan is opening App store instead of launching a game. Reward on prime gaming page is "Pending" status.

To get this to work correctly on my iPhone I do the following:
    1. Go to Prime Gaming on my laptop
    2. Claim the award
    3. Scan the QR code with the iPhone
    4. Allow the link to open in Safari and then open the App Store
    5. Quit the App Store and go back to Safari
    6. Copy the link
    7. Open Chrome
    8. Paste the link and hit enter
    9. Chrome should open the MCOC app instead of the App Store

If you are able to do “COPY the LINK” (in your steps above), I’m assuming you are doing a PRESS-N-HOLD on the earlier REDEEM button, such the the following pop-up appears (copy from earlier pic, unfortunately this original contributor pic was not in English, but you can understand).

So if you are at there, just do the OPEN IN MCOC, instead of the COPY LINK.

(edit), oh, I think you are saying you are copying the link from one step further, within Safari, not the Pop-up. So to get the pop-up instead, just do the PRESS-N-HOLD on that original REDEEM button. And then select OPEN IN MCOC.

That's a good alternative if you are logged into Prime Gaming on your device. I don't log in to Amazon on my phone.

Is contest still available on prime gaming? I can’t seem to find anything for it anymore.
