Battleground matchmaking system

Why the hell am I coming up against champions who have like 12 7 stars and their whole 30 squad is like rank 5 6 stars, when I only have like 3 6 stars at rank 2.
Therw should be a matchmaking system based on average champion rating of your 30.
Not being pited against a player who has 3 champions that are equal to like half your roster.

Its not fair in the slightest, been slogging away, losing 20 fights in a row, in platinum one

Just 12 7*? You really shouldn't be complaining if that's all you're facing in plat.

It's a competition. It's fair. You're not going to win any favor here. You're in the same competition as those others. In Platinum, it's a free for all. You've reached your ceiling of how high you can climb in said competition. Just be glad you can get to Platinum.

There will be a ceiling, you’ve done better than most with an account at your level so you’re matched against everyone now.

Take the rewards you get for the season, take some champs up and try again next season.

    That’s the way it works.

Yes, but doesn't make it right, does it...this game and the developers are sophisticated enough to make a matchmaking, obviously I'm aware, even taking average ranking you are gonna come up against someone who will be pretty impossible to beat, but at the moment in time it's pretty ridiculous how common that is. One person I fought had a legendary profile pic, 😲.

Fair enough, you saying I've done well, I'll take that, trying to grind the solo event to get some 7 star shards, without the tokens, just using energy it's slow

You think the Legends title means something? All it means is they had 2 to 3 hours and a strong enough champ to now down easy content faster than 101+ people. They aren't difficult to obtain and don't mean they're good at BGs.

True story! I have legends title from both the incursions run a few months back and from the EQ one that same month and believe me, I'm a legit sub par BG's player.
I openly admit this and know this.

I don't come here complaining about peopel with bigger rosters than me when I am in Vibranium, nor when I get to GC.

I strive to get better at the game instead, and slowly build my deck to be better.
    It really is that simple.

A year ago I wasn't getting past gold.

You're just as bad, as you can see the post is under suggestion, my suggestion, not yours, just coz you like being whipped but a pay to win game doesn't mean everyone else must be happy with the status quo 👍🏻

Here we go with the Pay to win bs...
Well if they are pay to win they are paying for the servers, the game development and everything else. Be happy with the scraps you get you glorified Free to lose player.

The reason why you were able to reach Plat 1 in the first place is because below Plat, matches are skewed to favour your deck, i.e. you get easier matchups based on your deck.

Once you get into Plat, this stops and you get matched with everyone in that level.

It's not unfair. This is actually how big the ocean is. You were fighting in a pond before that.

That aside, I personally think that the skewed matchmaking that happens before Plat has to be removed. It's giving some players the impression that BGs are that way and they are entitled to face matches with similar decks all the way until they are in GC (or even further).

Every week, a new frustrated BG player. Let me ask you a few questions.

    Have you explored act 8?
    Have you done Necro?
Did you use the poolies and omega event to get R5 stuff ?
Have you done WOW and SOS?

The players you meet, with a deck consisting of only R5s and 7R2+, they have done that.

4-5 seasons ago, I had 6 x R5s (Doom, NF, Angela, Shuri, Scorpion and AA). The rest of my deck was R4s and 7R1s. Then 8.4 came out, I explored act 8, did 1 necro run, we had WOW, poolies and omega event, now SOS, and suddenly my deck looks significantly stronger. (I have 1 ascended 200 sig R4 in my deck > Mags, the rest is now R5s or 7R2+)

    Skills dosn’t matter much…I was a 💩 paragon and now I'm a 💩 valiant.
It's all about the number of R5s and 7R2+.

    Do content.

There are many games which going first or 2nd is a huge advantage. While some try to balance it with drawing an extra card (similar to some other suggestions above about having an extra champ to choose from), I think the fairest approach can be borrowed from Chess: Each player at the beginning of the match (when they search for a match and choose currency to spend and whether to use a shield or not) also puts in a bit of how many points they are willing to give to go 2nd. Then whoever bids the least will get the amount of points the person who bid the most bid in a round of their choice (you would choose durring the pre-fight selection countdown when you might otherwise enable a pre-fight ability). If not selected previously, it would default to using the points in round 3.

How many points would be worth "going 2nd"... I don't know... but each person could decide that for themselves, and over time, people can choose for themselves is it worth 2000 points to go 2nd? 5000? Or maybe not, and just bid 1 point, and try to let their opponent dig their own grave.

Either way, the players could only blame themselves if they didn't get what they liked who went first

Since it is possible for players to bid the same amount... RNG would decide who won, and the points bonus would still be awarded to the player going first.

We just had a thread like this that just got closed. Take a read if you haven't already...

    I feel like this sometimes.

I'm Cav starting this season Bronze II and I battled my way to Gold II, and sometimes against rosters like you are describing. I have a very modest roster – I don't have Doom, Warlock or CGR or the other heavy hitters – but I'm getting matched up to players similar to what you are describing. Most likely they are Thronebreaker and higher who either just started playing BG or have been sandbagging. Sometimes I'm winning, but I am losing a lot! But, I'm working my way up.

I recently got matched against a player that had 6* and 7* champs, and none were under 15k and the top ones were over 20k, while most of mine are 5* and 6* at 15k or less. After we drew champs I thought for sure I was going to get creamed, but I picked some good counters, played well and ended up winning. This happens a lot, but I end up losing more often than I win.

The one thing BG is teaching me is how to get better at playing the different champs and how to choose the best counter based on the cards drawn. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

To be cliche, "at the end of the day it's just a game." And, I have no idea where you started the season, but if you got to Plat I already, kudos to you! You're getting you a** beat by a tougher class of players.

That's an interesting idea, it'd be nice for something to happen to change the status quo.

Ok, I didn't find it before I logged this one, I had a ganda, on the first 2 or 3 pages.

I'm similar hey, I had the game since year one, but quit for the past 4 years annoyed kabam kept moving the goal post with 6 stars coming out, when I barely struggle to rank up my measly 5 star roster.

I got lucky with the poolies event and got Odin and omega sentinel and red. But not alot else as far as god tier goes.

Whatever rank they are it's pretty brutal swing that when the ban screen comes up and sure I've won one or two, but never gone win the three to get out of plat 1.

I do see the fact it makes you a better player, but it's deflating when they're so much more powerful, you know.

Thanks I appreciate that, glad to see two decent people in a row 👍🏻
