Open the murder box, pick the first number…

What happened to me next was it disappeared entirely. I went to another screen and then I got the pop ups back to back to enter the rest of the number

Yes that happened to me too. I had to do “something else” in game for the input to pop up again. Thanks again!

Wow, they really reach with this want, and they wanted us to simply discover this without more specific hints

It is actually using a system that used to be called "calculator code." It was common years ago when pocket calculators themselves were common. Most of the numbers look like letters on old LCD calculator screens if you flip the calculator upside down. "3" for example looks like an E.

70345 on an old LCD calculator when flipped upside down looks like ShEOL.

I actually thought the Murderbox was using calculator code, but since the position hints were scrambled none of my guesses that fit the hints worked, and I moved on to other guesses.

why would the post get a dislike? the gif is laughing at the silliness of turning an LCD upside down for cheap laughs.

Yes, a very appreciated “insightful” as to where that word came from.

EXCEPT (as pointed out), how do you get to the point of just reversing the letters, and NOT realize that the letters only look like the numbers IF YOU TURN THEM UPSIDE DOWN.

Guess not as many people in school do that with calculators anymore.

    One I remember is..
71077345 = SHELL OIL (for those who have Shell Oil gas stations near them)
