Upgrading 6 star champion from rank 2 to 3 decreases champion rating

Hi there

I don't know if this is really a bug or if this behaviour is intended.

I recently upgraded some 6 star champions from rank 2 to rank 3 and I noticed that in all cases the champion rating decreased by several hundred points.

E.g. I upgraded Cosmic Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel and Absorbing Man, which all had a rating of around 10.1k or more on rank 2 (fully leveled) - and they went down ways below 10k after having upgraded them to rank 3. In both cases I had to reach approx. level 30 (of 55) to get back to 10.1k again.

I didn't notice this behaviour when I upgraded them from rank 1 to rank 2 or when I upgraded any 5 star (or lower) champion, independent of its rank.

Does someone know if this is a bug or if this really happens by purpose?

Cheers
Mike

Did you have any boosts on when you checked the ratings initially or did you change your mastery setup in between?

No. No boosts, nothing. I also did not change any settings.

    That's how it works

Sometimes, some champs, at some stars and ranks, will drop a little in Rating from just ranking up.

Kabam has said in the past that is giving the champ more space to increase as you LEVEL them up afterwards.
And the end point of a champ at each rank is to have them planned for being at Max Level for each particular Rank, not kept at Level 1 for a time.

There's no fast rule that the rating stays the same.
And whatever the criteria for determining rating, some may bump up a bit, some may drop a bit.

Thanks for the input. Sounds reasonable, at least comprehensible. Maybe I just never noticed this before. But if it works this way ... so be it.
