I've been loving this dude for quite a while now. He's not the fastest champion in the game but I've found him immensely useful in a lot of non-Battlegrounds areas of the game, especially for quite a few of the Summer of Sorrow-type fights. His ability to control regen, power gain, evade and unstoppable, as well as a ton of immunities, make him an incredibly versatile champion.
Now I just need to continue to pump up his sig ability for some extra damage.

I'll try to record a vid against Destroyer in the Gauntlet, but unfortunately he's behind Toad and I hate that Toad fight. But anyway, here's the old video.

The neat thing about that fight is that Sandman could have used any special attack to great effect in it. Obviously the SP3 deals the big damage, but I used the SP1 very effectively on a previous attempt. It completely negates any power gain the Destroyer may have gotten. Meanwhile, the SP2 completely shuts off Destroyer's unstoppable, making him much more manageable to fight.
I'm running the recoil masteries and am slightly boosted (to make the Toad fight prior easier).

The major change in his “buff” was that his burst damage, which scales off debuff count, had the max debuff scaling reduced from 99 to 20 in exchange for being a bigger burst per debuff and scaling with modified instead of base attack rating (so it benefitted from attack boosts like his heavy proficiencies, nodes, or his sig fury). This had a few ramifications:
• Sandman got much better damage quicker. It’s still not really good enough for bgs, but he does questing and war fights faster.
• He isn’t reliant on hitting sp3 for the big damage, he can stick with the utility of sp1 or sp2 and still get good damage going.
• Sandman’s damage ceiling dropped. Spamming sp3s over a longer fight is way less rewarding.
• He’s reliant on sig now, whereas pre-buff it basically didn’t matter.
So basically he lost a lot of his big healthpool damage but got better damage upfront in shorter fights, and he doesn’t need to give up his utility for meaningful damage. I can live with the change because Sandman’s breadth of utility really is good and now he has enough damage to back it up, but I do miss that massive longform burst.
