Need advice on who to focus

Hello, I need advice on who to focus my resources on in these two classes. As a point of reference I'm at the very beginning of Act 6, I did chapter 1 so I could upgrade my crystals.
What I aim for is characters who are useful mainly on the long run, since I got decent characters already to base myself on, plus I don't have any awakening gem available so, not counting on duping for the time being. Thanks in advance for your advices.

    And also take up your 5* archangel he's gonne be very handy for alot for fights and nodes

    Once you can dupe and sig up king groot id take him up. He's great for bosses since he can just keep healing. So even with mistakes as you're learning you can take most bosses down without revives. Fights are slower but it'll save you on units. If you havnt already, definitely recomend unlocking will power mastery.

    Medusa, Mister Sinister, Kitty Pride, Bishop.
    I would not exclude Corvus Glaive (for big damage) and Colossus (utility monster).
    Knull is also a very solid character, if you like his play style.
