There is some potential here. If you play Absorbing Man a lot, you definitely recognize the “heavy-into-special” mechanic for increased DPS. I need to mess with it some more but if you can parry in a fight against something that bleeds, there’s maybe some potential there
Overall, the kit is definitely a lot tankier, as well — it feels more like what I would expect a Black Panther with a Vibranium suit to feel like.
It might not be for everyone, with how much parrying you need to do, but that DPS to be tied to a timer.
I never am really a fan of the ramp-up mechanic to have a timer for the player to maximize the DPS, because to me, that’s the quickest way to get an average player to just ignore the kit and play something else where the DPS is basically guaranteed.
Skilled players are different — they see it as a challenge, and they want to do things like that to test themselves and master the game.
I don’t know how many people who aren’t at a higher skill level are going to look at the timer mechanic and go, “Yeah, you know what? You say it can bleed? I got a 6-star Archangel for that.”

The real question is are there any meta defenders that he counters

There are no meta defenders… only perfectly balanced defenders working as intended 😉

I don’t thinks hes got too much utility but I see him as more a defender that has great burst damage to nuke down vanilla match ups when you need an attacker.
Now before you say this took 6 minutes this buff sucks, keep in mind this is a r1 6*. A maxed out 6* or 7* r1/r2 would have shredded this guy in around a minute. Also he's meant for smaller BG and war type healthpools, not long form content.
So his rotation works like this. Do MLLL combos (don't finish combos), then dash back to refresh your charges. Parry to gain charges, special 1 also grants charges. Build enough charges, then get to sp2, then heavy cancel into SP2 similarly to Absorbing Man. if you are against an opponent with a lot of debuffs, heavy cancel into sp1 instead. Note when cancelling into a special attack, all charges are consumed and his Reflective matrix goes on cooldown. It'll also go into cooldown when it hits maximum charges.

My 40 sig 6R1 BP with synergy (BP, Jabari, KM, NF) did it in 4 min and 167 hits, first try. With proper game play and timing the sp2s better, i think he can do it in 130-140 hits as 6R1. Thats not bad. A good buff, but its 2-3 years to late, he’s not a great defender or attacker.

Yeah I did try it with synergies and with similar results
I think he can be an alright option on defense because he's naturally tanky and you won't be able to just parry MLLLM him with most champs, plus he has cleanse charges. Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a hard counter though

A decent defender, with the right nodes. For players that can’t intercept, a huge problem.

Time God Demonzyfyre was really worried your gameplay may not come😭😭 Thanks for saving his life.

This is from MSD stream by the way
4*R1 VS my 6R1…2,2k vs 9k. A R3 can prob do that fight in 40 secs in BG, and you can play normal.
