AG Crystal Shards

What do we think about the most valuable resource in the game being turned into a crystal shard?

Imo, i think this just raises the complexity of things in the future as now instead of content having AG as rewards its just going to have shards that you'll have to save up. However the other bad thing is that , now they can monetize AG shards for offers in the game (outside of the current sales going on rn)

I would've preferred seeing the AG limited to challenging content rewards and unit offers, but wbu?

I don't think its a good idea - it shifts the game towards just splurging money for valuable resources over completing challenging content for them

I think breaking it in to shards will allow them to give us part of an awakening gem for various in game content. Most content isn’t difficult/time intensive to justify a full 7* awakening gem, but they could give us 10% of one for example. Otherwise the only content that would be able to give awakening gems would be story content and Everest content which isn’t released often.

But if the shards are just used for money deals and aren’t earn-able in game, then I think it’s a bad idea.

This was the point of introducing shards. We aren't anywhere close to awarding full awakening gems for regular content, or putting a full gem in an Odin, but with the introduction of AG shards we can both reward and sell portions of awakening gems. I know it's hard to see but by the middle of next year it should be pretty clear that this is good for both players and the game.
Will the stream coming up on Wednesday touch on Banquet GGC and the Everest content rewards ? Curious on the appearance of AG shards in both of those events

I think it's a horrible idea. It's been a year to a year and a half since 7*'s were introduced, so introducing an AG for them shouldn't be delayed any longer. We're far enough into the game now to where fully formed 7* AG's can be offered.

Plus, the AG shards are RNG based bullsh*t, and not generic. If they were generic, then I might be more positive towards the new idea.

Also, If the approach is about reserving it for challenging content, then let's keep in mind that we've already done much of that in the form of Necropolis, and every season of pain. I think we deserve a fully formed 7* AG now.

The shards are generic, the AGs are not. It is perfectly normal in the progression of things for AGs to be RNG based. That's how they've all started. But the shards all go toward one crystal that gives you the random gem. The crystal shards are not class specific.

They're RNG based shards, so no gurantee that you'll get a full AG.

Correction: I stand corrected on the RNG shards lol

You've got to think this helps with longevity of the 7* cycle aswell rather than just dumping a ton of awakening gems into the playerbase which ultimately makes your own 7* crystals less exciting in my eyes.

We can be sinical and impatient about it but personally I'm looking forward to the first time I can open one of these things, much like I was excited about my first 6*/7*/Titan pulls.

AG Shrards are just that, shards. Use 10,000 of them and get a random class AG

Yes and no. That is one of three routes to get one. You could also spend 21k units on the unit offers and choose between an AG crystal or a GG AG, or you could spend $600 through the webstore and get an AG through the market event there (essentially an extra one if you're getting 4 Odins along the way). The approach is new, but introducing AGs for money is not.

Maybe Valiant EQ is coming and they'll throw a handful of shards in there each month. Maybe a new gauntlet with some shards. If the options are this or nothing until full AGs in who knows how long, I'd rather have the option to build up an AG over the course of a few months than have to wait and get nothing until the waiting is over.
They're overpriced, but so is everything that is new or game changing.

I think 7* AG shards are, in and off itself, a pretty good idea. I think it'll give Kabam the oppotunity to sprinkle out 7* AG resources a lot more freely in a lot more types of content, than they would have been able to do if they only had full gems.

That said, would I still have liked to see these shards pop up in content first? Yes.

Do I really care about whales being able to buy a 7* gem? No.

Yeah all of what you're is saying is true, and are things I have thought about. We did used to get 6* Class AG's before generics, so they are keeping their reputation with that lol. And it does work for those who have a champ in every class that could be awakened, so an RNG AG isn't so bad in that case.

On another note, I just got one of my most wanted 7* Tech champs, and the r3 gem for her 😍 Now I might have to "Orca Whale" a little bit and hope for the AG 😂

Tech and skill lack options, the glorious games AG at least for this event had more value.
