6* Rank 5 and Ascension

I just finished act 8 and have a rank 5 gem and I have enough dust for two ascensions. So I’m wondering who should I rank 5 and then what two champs to ascend? I’m paragon looking to continue to explore act 8. Included a picture of my 7* roster just to show what areas I might already have covered

    Oh and I already brought Kingpin to rank 5, not sure if I should ascend him though.

    Scorpion
    Scorpion has some mad immunities, rupture (only if ya don’t pick it) amazing damage and is arguably one of if not the best science champion in the game, and can go in almost any situation, hazard shift he’s most likely available, evade, he’s an endless killing machine.

    Yeah, there are very few champs that have immunity to rupture, and it's not even his only available immunity.

    In my opinion you should rank and ascend CGR, Hulkng, Abs, Human Torch and Archangel (in the order you want) they ara all very helpful for story content and for Bgs too.

    Then maybe Scorpion and Doom.

    I'd say cgr because he's just OP. But doom scorp apocalypse are also good choices as you'll probably not see them as 7* any time soon.

    Would it be a bad idea to rank 5 CGR and then ascend Hulkling and Doom? Or should I only ascend rank 5 champs?

    No it's good. That way you can use multiple champs simultaneously before maxing them out.
