Alliance gifts in inventory but cannot be gifted?

I have been doing the accolades program in my alliance for several days. Today upon receiving the boxes i went to gift them and it said "Insufficient funds, You have no items, Get more from quests or the Store. I have a boss basher and sticky fingers box. Not sure what to do as i need to get the rewards for this event. Please help

    Check your inventory for which COLOR box you have, and by Name.
    Then when go to gift to an alliance teammate, hit (+1) on that, and just that, matching color/title of box to give out.

    If you did the wrong color, and get that error, go and UNSELECT it from gifting (press -1 to remove it) and try another one instead.

    The gifting screen is very poorly designed, as to NOT tell you WHICH ones you have available to give.
