Expectations for the 3 rebalances coming?

Next Monday the Jan build of the game should be out with 3 rebalances: Northstar, Arcade, and Sable

No surprise to anyone that these champs range from completely sucky to impractical so it’s nice that they’re all getting buffed. I have both of these guys at r2 (thanks Titan crystal) and I’ve used them quite a bit.





NS does have some crazy damage at max ramp but getting there is a pain. Shuri had a similar problem and they also halved the shocks needs while keeping the damage so I’m expecting that he’ll definitely perform way better. He’s pretty fun to play imo and the gambit relic works well with him. Despite not being BG focused I wonder how his usage will improve with this

Arcade is interesting. He’s a really good defender in certain metas (like this one) but once you know how to play around him he’s not as great. He’s also a fun attacker but his damage output is lacking despite having some really nice utility. The rebalance notes say that they want to “improve his poison and autoblock gameplay” so both his offensive and defensive potential will go up. I’m wondering if they’ll end up making his autoblock harder to remove or something but I’m unsure how far they’ll go. I don’t find that he hits the 4/5 defender rating (except in certain metas) so we’ll see. His attacker loop just needs way more damage so idk if they’ll tune the numbers and call it a day or add something else

Sable I know is stressful to play and has mid damage even after ramping but I don’t own her as a 7* so I’d rather have someone else note down what she needs lol

My biggest hope is for arcade as of now. He’s super super fun imo and if the damage bump and defense tuning is done right he could skyrocket in the tech class. Who are you most looking forward to seeing buffed and what are your expectations?

    Sable: Easier and smoother rotation, more damage. I hope they allow her to stack disorients on both hits of her heavy

    Northstar: Reduction to 6 momentum means he can ramp up faster. He’s basically getting the Shuri treatment. He might get a way to refresh his prowess but unlikely

    Arcade: Probably more poison damage and overall dps will be higher. He might have a new ability where it’s gonna be not as easy to knock down to remove his autoblock. He’s basically getting the Attuma treatment (defensive plus offensive tune up)

    Personally I am looking forward to Arcade’s rebalancing the most (I love him) and he seems to have the most potential

    I don’t have Sable but I’m looking forward to the other two. Especially Arcade, he’s got a cool kit he just needs a damage boost and a small boost on defense. Northstar has a cool kit but his playstyle is stressful and easy to throw off by nodes or passive AI, I hope in addition to reducing his ramp they make his ramp easy to maintain, longer pauses or a higher chance to pause. He’s very RNG dependent at the moment. Would love to see him turn out like shuris buff.

    I have really high hopes for Arcade. I also like him a lot and am hoping he gets something good. In lieu of making his pre-fights not disappear on loss (which the balancing notes never mentioned so I assume it’s not happening) I really just hope they don’t hold back too much in buffing his damage. It’s usable, but I don’t think it’s enough for the effort required in managing your traps and positioning. I’d also really appreciate if they buffed his combat power rate reduction, right now it’s decent but imo it’s still difficult to keep opponents against the wall sometimes since a lot of specials push him back so much and he doesn’t have a method like Kate does to easily push them back.

    I’m a little worried about what Northstar’s buff is gonna be like since Kabam only mentioned reducing his ramp, which I don’t think solves enough of his problems (like being an Everest content champ who is unusable in Abyss and unideal in LoL, although that’s because of his multihits so I’m not sure how they would have fixed that anyways). I’m hopeful though. A big thing I’m hoping for is a buff to his pauses, I feel like you’re often locked into throwing only sp1 unless you use sp3 first, which limits the reverb you can get off sp2. Also please Kabam change the Iceman synergy, removing your pauses on heavy is pretty much a nerf that limits his playstyle flexibility.

    And Sable? God if I know. I pray that they pull a rabbit out of a hat and make her good, because I have no clue how they’d go about it (at least in a way that isn’t super boring like removing the mine mechanics).

    I got three of them, and leave them there. I dont know if i invest to them or not. it was very painful when drawing them Titan Crystals, including duped them. is the rate of droping them set too high ?

    I am really hoping they knock these out out of the park, I've pulled all 3 plus patriot twice and leader twice. Will take the sting of not pulling scream, nefarious, spiral, or shathra if these buffs end up being good.

    They did say they will be better, give them a try once they are buffed before jumping straight to conclusions

    Just got Arcade from a Titan a day or 2 ago.He seems alright a little damage from his kit on Offense maybe with a root mechanic.Seems like he's missing a combo ending effect.
    For Defense maybe make his autoblock work better similar to Guardian when hit with a Special. Oh, and bump his PI a bit.

    I'm really hopeful for the Sable buff. She's already awakened and along with Hit Monkey, both are primed to be ranked up to fill out my skill r3 roster a bit more. I guess we shall see soon enough with her embargo lifting since the buff should go live the Jan 8th build.

    I hope Arcade turns out good. You said it all already he’s not a hard defender by himself unless you give him super annoying nodes. They need to make it harder to remove his auto block. You can just get rid of all his defensive threat with one heavy attack… I think it would be cool if his sp1 just placed root all the time so you take a little of that poison damage. On offense I already like how he plays the numbers just need a bump. Northstar I personally don’t care about but hey I mean if he’s actually a top option for the stuff he’s supposed to be a top option for then yippee I guess

    Yeah that’s what I’m expecting with the arcade defender buff. For the numbers bump there’s a few different ways they could approach it, maybe some sort of integration of vicious. I just hope it’s enough.

    Yeah for NS you’re locked into the sp1 99% of the time. I tried to fire an sp2 during speed burst close to 3 bars, then spam sp1 since the pauses don’t last that long. Hard to access the full damage when throwing an sp2 risks getting rid of the ramp. They didn’t mention it at all but I hope they realize how annoying it is

    Imo Northstar needs is to reduce his ramp to 6, heavy to refresh prowess and more pause on the sp1 (maybe the last hit gives a couple more pauses).

    In arcade I want change in his sig ability to give him a +1 fury passive for each personal debuff on the opponent with potency of +100 and max out at 3000 attack rating same as like scorpion with venom synergy till opponent has debuff the fury passive stays on him whenever debuff expires the fury passive also get removed

    That will make him annoying on defense as well to increase the debuff damage maybe scale with his base attack to not make him too op on defense

    He doesn't need to refresh his prowess since the whole point is to play aggressive and keep them paused
