Worst quest in the game?

It’s been 10 years. In terms of difficulty, design, etc, what is the single worst quest in the game? Is it still 6.2.5, or is it another?

Bonus question: What is the best quest in mcoc in terms of difficulty/design?

If we're looking at this from the perspective of a new, first time player with the recommended power level, I'd say 6.2.2 or 6.3.6. Those are the ones I struggled on most

How about an experienced player (paragon, valiant)?

6.4.6 will always be a hard quiet because of the GM.
However the one I have always had trouble with is 6.3.1 medusa as the paths were not fun and you need a strong bleed champ (which I did not have at the time). But I'm sure if I go back in now it'll be fine as I just achieved valiant so my champs will definitely be strong enough. Not a single quest from act 7-9 gave me as much trouble as 6.3.1 but at may have just been due to the lack.of a bleed champ.

That boss is impossible unless you have a good bleed champion (though I seen some solo her via heal reversal)

I think the main reason why I had a huge problem was because I had to do bleeds via hit monkey 😂

When act 6 was released for first time

Gating behind class was worst idea and orginal 6.2.6 was curse due to no retreat node

    Best would be Crucible, Necro

Not sure if I’d be valiant rn if it wasn’t for Nimrod for Mister Sinister, it was a very long fight, but I got him.

Cap was a pain in the butt.

Worst quest would pretty much be any of Act 6. The design was just mean. Explored it recently with a stacked roster and I still encounted fights thinking "other than chipping away what was a player supposed to do in this one".

    Best was probabaly Crucible.

I'm working on that currently and my god..... just finished up 6.2.5 then jumped to 6.3.1 (saving the hard/fun bosses for last) and some of these paths I question how they got done back in the day.

Should it be compared with attacking champ tiers, max 5-Star r2 against The Collector?
  • BendyBendy Member Posts: 7,680 ★★★★★
Probs after the buff 6.2.2 or still 6.2.5 as sinister well u need a robot now or bait sp2 which thats long and 6.2.5 quest still sucks due to all the stun immune power gain focused nodes

Funny no one mentioned the one quest in 6.1 where ghost is the boss? The paths there were hella confusing.

Once upon a time, most anything in Act 6, particular 6.2, more particularly 6.2.5 as many have mentioned. With all the changes to the Act the removal of gates and addition of change nodes, Act 6 really isn't the big deal it was anymore. I'd argue the worst story content in current day Kabam is any path with a scourge nodes. Doesn't really make one quest the worst, but it makes 6 paths per chapter unnecessarily dumb. They're not even hard, they're literally just built to lengthen fights as much as possible.

The monthly eq where relic gives 1.5 bars of power. Annoying, 100% bad design.

Did people forget acid wash Mysterio?
Oh mi gud. I almost cried fighting him for an hour with 5r4 ghost using 10-12 revives and it was a just a path fight.

I didn't even struggle with slashed tyres juggy, i fortunately came across a video of a 3* Ronan cheesing it.

Then there was a triple power gain path someone in variant 2/3 with dr strange and mephisto. That was haaard. Most of varient 1.3 was also ultra tricky.

Best quest/fight: Gonna give it to pre nerf, Act 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3, they started to water down story after 6.4. Act 6 was epitome of the story quest.

Oh dam, we havet had a celebrity challenge for so long. They were all annoying if your only option was to use a 4*. Hope we some of those again. C'mon kabam/marvel collaborate.

6.2.3 is quite fun with icarus, certain champs can cheese that quest

Questing using guillotine to go for the deathless piece and fighting the bugged Bahamut. That was the most fustration I felt since fighting Grand Master for the first time.

Bringing me back to the days when Variant one was THE WORST piece of content developed. God I still get PTSD thinking about that korg fight. Nowadays it’s not so bad, but unlike act 6 which got buffed, V1 never got buffed. Man I miss the days of variant content. Those ones would be a fun time for some meaningful rewards back in the day. I would love to see them re-released with variant difficulty and some up-to-date juicy rewards!

It is a limited time quest on Aug 2023 designed by brutal dlx, the first summoner to clear Realm of Legends it's just Rol fights with some annoying nodes, But I heard herc can cheese that.

Two of the best people to cheese it was Ronan with his stun lock and magneto.
Tbh it wasn't too hard if U had them ranked.

It wasn't that it was hard. Just long, boring, and repetitive for 0 reason

I was actually going to make a post (and I still might) giving Kabam praise for being much better quest designers nowadays compared to back in the day. Back then, their idea of "fun stuff" was to slap +200% combat power rate on their defenders, along with "Special attacks cost 50% power for the defender" nodes, and then forced you to only bring champions that had no way to control power. Then, just for the fun of it, they'd ramp up the defender's attack rating to absolutely absurd levels, so you couldn't even parry properly, and if you ever blocked one of their constant special attacks, you took a ton of chip damage. The first boss in the first quest of the Ultron Variant has an attack rating of almost 20K while, in contrast, Necropolis Titania's attack rating is about 10K. Sheer insanity.

Did this post idea come about after I went into the Ultron Variant to see if I could finally clear it out with 7r3 champions? Why, yes. Even though getting hit in the face with an SP3 doesn't hurt quite as much when you're a god compared to the defender, the fights themselves were still incredibly frustrating. Nothing fun about them, which is a huge contrast to today, since I think that most of today's fights are actually fun even when they're nail-bitingly hard.
