bad pulls are the norm so always expect that going in and the players who have all the good champs mainly got there from tons of openings and they spend a lot and or are end gamers who do all the content.
short term wins don't really happen, go in with long term expectations and you'll be happier.
edit: bad pulls are extra hard on progressing accounts. it's why this game is addictive, if you want the latest stuff it encourages spending and trying to move up the ladder in alliance modes. so if you're just a casual player it's extra frustrating.
I just expect it at this point its pretty much all I get. For a long time now its nearly always useless dupes over and over, not even ones where that has any use. I dupe the same stuff over and over like a small pool of champs I keep getting. Thats why I dont buy any of the offers like the cyber stuff its more than likely to just be another dupe anyway. Only just got titania finally. Its very slow going mostly gave up chasing crystals. Focused on other stuff now like the anniversary carinas then eventually 100% necropolis so that keeps me going more. If it was just about crystals then yeah prob not. RNG can be pretty bad. When I get something decent is when its least expected

It doesnt have to be any deeper than that.
Patriot is getting buffed, yes, but probably not till mid year. (He came out last July.)
