Maybe I'm misremembering, but it's pretty much only been a thing they've announced at the time of launch. It isn't that exciting of an event in terms of rewards. Maybe a decent chunk of units, but then infuriating amounts of shards that leave you at a weird number for all of eternity. No reason for it not to happen, and no reason for them to labor over a post to give players a heads up.

For a week long (maybe 10 days?), you actually get a good amount of units. Anywhere from 2-3k
just hoping, if Kabam pops an event, they use REGULAR fractional rewards? like, a half a crystal, 5% or 10% of a catalyst. I understand the culture; it’s gotta feature Red and Gold, and almost always the number 8; all symbolic of fortune and/ or prosperity…but having 9988 crystal shards REALLY screws with the OCD.
and I hope they do launch it. low key, FREE event, that usually gives needed resources. it’s fun! my roster ain’t gonna change a lot, maybe, but I’ve always left a Lunar New Year event in better standing.
How many more discussions will there be until information about this event appears... It begins on the day of the Lunar New Year celebration, this year it falls on January 29, and not next week. So it will probably start on Wednesday and the information in that case it will probably appear today. Let's see.
It’s probable, as it’s run pretty much every year in the past, but nothing official announced yet - unclear if it’s been pushed back later than this week, will happen as a ‘surprise’ or has been unexpectedly cancelled. (Though I think cancellation is the least likely)
Chinese dont play this game, so call it Lunar NewYear
I'm Chinese and play this game. Also it's Chinese New Year because 12-year cycle of the Chinese animal-zodiac and its origins (surprise surprise) from China, hence called Chinese New Year. Immigration of Chinese to Singapore, Malaysia, etc etc took their tradition with them and thus celebrated New Year with locals referring to as Chinese New Year.
Lunar New Year is the general term. Vietnam, Lunar New Year is known "Vietnamese New Year". Vietnamese zodiac signs include the Cat instead of the Rabbit and the Buffalo instead of the Ox.

Nice way to generalize incorrectly . People in China may not be able to play (legitimately) not all are chinese.. Conversely not all Chinese are in China and thus able to play legitimately.
Lunar new year event was just confirmed as canceled after ten years.kabam stated it was stale or boring so they’ll still give us the rewards and units, but in a different event. That lunar new year is a thing of the past.
We've had one every year so far so my guess would be, yes why not.
Kabam just confirmed cancellation permanently of the lunar new year event. posted minutes ago in forums. We’ll still get the units and rewards though just in a different quest.

It was just announced. It’s permanently canceled. Just a fyi in case you haven’t seen it yet.

Either it is there tomorrow or it is not.

and in response the the numerical values of 8s...8 is a very important number because in chinese it means luck or fortune.
