Powerback Boost Nerf

So after however many years Kabam is just randomly changing how powerback boosts work? Sure this change to most people is probably not that deep, guessing partially aimed towards people cheesing the 9.1 bosses with mutant boosts, but for tier 1 war it also gimps a lot of the more commonly use champs. Corvus (champ who costs money to pull), Moleman (champ who costs money to pull), Prof X (champ who costs money to pull), Ghost, and CGR. Some of these Champs are just indirectly nerfed but don't suffer so much that it makes them completely useless. For example, moleman can still do some decent damage if you sp2 into your sp1 and have max deep wounds and suis, CGR you can probably PS1 > Heavy > MLLLM > MLLLL > SP2 and it will bring you to just under 2 bars of power and all you'd have to do is medium-light into another sp2 with all of the armor breaks, Ghost all it does is gimp how fast and the risk factor of fights she can take, Corvus is always gonna be at risk of losing his glaive charges if he doesn't kill in 2 sp2s.

These are indirect nerfs but can at least be worked around, however... Professor X is gonna suck especially for war. The Whole reason people ranked him was for the massive sp3 damage which allowed you to either
- loop sp3's until the fight was over
- loop sp2's which 9/10 also finished the fight

Which is pretty much not gonna be viable at all anymore... I think the other champs can survive but honestly I'm never gonna use this guy at a rank 3 level anymore and I spent some decent money to get him (considering he's sig 80 now) I think a rank-down ticket specifically for Prof X is arguably justified imo. Unaddressed indirect nerfs to extremely meta-relevant champs is just confusing, it would've been no harm if they had addressed that they were already looking to nerf or rebalance something like this but nope. Complete radio silence.

You can PS1 and Build to about 2.8 bars of power with Corvus, SP2 Medium-Light SP2 again and kill most things.

Yeah, but he wasn’t originally so if you were trying to acquire him specifically for AW, you had to spend in one of the many events with a special crystal.

    Wouldn't prof x still work?

    Wouldn't prof x still work?

    That's what I was thinking.

Given that Prof X's special attacks cost up to 70% less Power during Mind Control, I would think he relies less on these boosts than most champions do.

And he's still going to be able to spam Unblockable SP2s against a Power Locked opponent who can't activate Evade or Miss during Mind Control, because it's actually part of his kit to do that.

If you think that's useless, I really don't know what to say...

Try it. I did. Doesn't work that way. Power back boost will look to see if by some power reserve mechanic you saved power after your special. If you saved more than half the power used by the special, power back will give you 0. What does this mean for profx? You build to sp3 and throw that. After sp3 you have sp2 ready. You throw sp2. After sp2 you don't even have 2 bars. That's how it works. Not to mention some other champs like bishop get 0 power no matter what, because the power back will see his power reserve mechanic (which only counts if you ko your opponent, but you lose all the power if you dont) and will give you exactly 0 power. So after sp2 you always have exactly 0 power left. This is one of the worst changes in the history of this game, as they didn't even properly looked into every possible interaction with the many champs in this game. Not to mention this is happening during war season. Complete and utter bs
