So you buy 5 Odins, get ~19000 units and a seven star Bastion? Honestly not the worst value in the world, especially heading into spring and J4 sales.
I would be inclined to agree with that, but unfortunately, we don't know what will be available in spring cleaning.
If recent events like the banquet, this $500 champ with no milestone rewards along the way, and the RNG rewards I'm seeing in Nightmare Raids are any indication, Kabam is severely out of touch with where the game economy is.
I think @Kabam Crashed has even acknowledged that they let things go a little too fast with the rollout of 7*, and they needed to pump the brakes a bit. I'm not in a position to deny that that's what their data shows, but it doesn't change the fact that end game valiants expect more.
Ultimately, Kabam really missed the boat here. They'll no doubt make money off this Bastion sale, but they could have made so much more by adding milestone rewards along the way. And I say that knowing that I would have been at least one individual who would have gone for it, but as it is, there's not a champ in this game worth $500 by itself, and I just don't have faith the spring cleaning deals will be that good. Feel free to change my mind by pulling back the ole transparency curtain and telling us what those deals will be. Perhaps I'll have a change of heart.

We can always make more money in the short term by selling more stuff or making a deal better. As I have said a number of times, short-term revenue is usually not our goal.
We have been experimenting with a bunch of different ways of releasing new champions, this being one of them. The target audience here is players who are willing to spend $500 on Bastion, but not willing to spend $500 on Bastion crystals with the chance of not getting him. Most players, including me, aren't part of that target audience. But there is no way for us to determine how big that audience is without these experiments.
I've reiterated this many times. Different Offers are for different demos. If it sounds ludicrous, there's a good chance it's quite literally not for you.

I literally said it’s for mega whales
And gave an example of person/youtuber that spent that much.
And I even said I’d rather spend $500 on july 4th
And I know most people here won’t even spend that much on July 4th.

Perhaps. Some have more than others and it's nothing to spend $500 on a game. Others save for specific times of the year. Personally I live and let live. If it isn't my wallet, it isn't my business. Lol
@DNA3000 estimation of $3k-7.5k a year is accurate. i’d guess it costs $5-6k if you want to clear out every big sales event just to “keep up”.
valentines spring cleaning “omega days” july 4 2-3 sagas 2-3 jack, nefaria, bastion sales cyber monday banquet christmas day deals
5-6 years ago, endgame keep up costs were maybe ~$2k.
not a great feeling but a good chunk of these events are just roster growth which everyone eventually gets and rank up resources are getting diluted after being spread into more events.
ngl these events are pretty fun even as a spectator but they’re not really worth spending on anymore. whaling in july and cyber might be enough to cling on.
