So...on contrary to what many say here, including @DNA3000 , yes, Kabam Staff was always bothered with the pause issue on BG. So, dont come with "Pause is a strategy" lol
Pause is a shame to whom use and abuse that way.

Horrible fights showed here without the abusers even do a single punch lol
Not one fight...both fights!!!

This is the ultimate unbearable unsportmanship way to play a game.

So, as a help to the team, as Crashed said they cant find some solutions to the game to keep running in background when the player swap apps or put the phone down.

Stack Overflow and Android Dev on Google are great sites to search for a solution

I tried and got this one...

But as a developer, Kabam may have access to the whole Android and iOS documentation to do this, also may ask Google and Apple directly.

many players (me included) who actually play this game to its current progression limit realise that pausing only nets you like 15k points, and honestly you dont deserve to win if you've scored that low.

The way battlegrounds works is that the fight happens locally in your phone and the results data is sent to Kabam server after the fight is over

In eSports competition, in a 1v1 format, when one side pause the game, the game is paused for both sides, it's allowed for technical difficulties

If it's a online multiplayer game like 5v5, if 1 player pause, the rest still continue on with the game, the player that stops playing is known as AFK (Away from keyboard)

Battlegrounds isn't really live gameplay like PUBG where data is sent constantly for every action you take

That's bcos battlegrounds isn't PvP

You are actually fighting against the AI controlled defender
