The Nightmare Raids Compensation is Great And All But...

I'm happy for the players who went through that week of Nightmares. 7 revives wasn't cutting it from what I saw...

But where's the compensation for the past 18 months of bad/rogue AI, dropped frames, bugs with other new content and everything else that was present in the game before last week? Where's the compensation for sticking with the game through all of that? I'm curious as to why it was Nightmare Raids that lead to such a huge compensation..

Or was it the vocal public boycott that came about due to this Raids being the final straw breaking a few whale humps?

There's plenty hay still on everyone's back from the past year and a half of constant and unresolved issues.

I feel like this is the start. The better Battleground rewards for just advancing up victory track is also nice. I think they’re doing what they can do right now because compensation is relatively easy compared to a lot of the other bugs in the game. It’d be nice if we could get some firm updates on the actual bugs though. I feel like even just the bug team addressing what are some of the bigger headaches and where we’re at with them would garner a lot of good will even without compensation. Most people generally want to like this game and have stuck with it.

How do you quantify all of that, and distrubute it in a way that's appropriate for the effects of a range of Players?

It does feel like a "Nightmare RAIDS was a specific thing to call out so compensation was able to be given out for this very specific set of players in these specific parameters."

But it certainly feels frustrating when that ONE thing doesn't fully scratch the surface of all that's wrong - and all that's BEEN wrong for months and months. How do you quantify justifiable ‘compensation’ for something that’s been ongoing for months and has sunk many various costs into our accounts like the acknowledged intercept issue.

A logical part of me feels like there *IS* nothing ever coming to 'compensate' us for things like the AI and Intercept issues and that all the sort of rewards were just pumped into the RAIDS compensation.

The problem is you can't quantify it. When it comes to compensation, it's about compensating for the effects of a particular issue. That means resolving the issue needs to be first priority. Then you can discuss the effects and what's reasonable. Sometimes that includes a little extra as a thank you gesture, but not as a given.
The problem with these laundry lists of grievances is it becomes impossible to remunerate that because they end up being compounded lists that no compensation can make up for. Sure, people are free to bring up their concerns, and they usually do it in lists, but unfortunately there's no real way to compensate for a pile-up of issues. You look at them individually, and respond whenever you can.

My point is that at some point it should be given - it doesn't matter the value (well not too much - nobody* wants energy refills or 1 gold revives), what matters is the gesture of compensation. Nightmare raids was very bad but also only affected a very small portion of the player base. There needs to be broader conciliatory gestures for broader, longstanding and more painful issues.

    *Always an exception

They will send compensation whenever they feel it's in line with their business policy or helps the business. I don't believe the boycott drama has any real impact on this. A group of 10 players reducing their spending doesn't significantly affect the bottom line. We're just playing the game, and at any time, we can stop without any real consequences if the game turns bad. However, Kabam will lose real money. They have the data to see what is truly affecting the game more.
