Ordeal Questions

TotemCorruptionTotemCorruption Member Posts: 1,903 ★★★★
Yes I need to do my own research, so excuse the laziness of these questions, but if anyone likes answering dumb questions, here are some about whether I can do Ordeal with my current lineup of 7s:

(1) I have Chee and Ham but not any of the other options I'm seeing people use;

(2) I have zero deathless champs;

(3) no Onslaught, but have JG, who seems like a similar but slightly worse version?

(4) I have an unduped 7R1 Sinister, but also have him as an ascended 6 and would rather not invest in him as a 7* just yet; who's a good replacement?

(5) I'm going to try to get Bastion from these RNG crystals, will he be useful in Ordeal? if I get him, I will use my EoP generic AG on him and R3 him;

(6) I'm missing a lot of the good Science and Mystic champs; I have Photon, Hulk, Punk, Ant-God; and Shathra, Purgatory, Juggs, Chavez, Rintrah, Spiral, Isophyne

(7) and some random champs I have ranked up as 7s; Medusa, Vox, Knull, BRB, Okoye, Elsa, Dazzler, She-Hulk, DPX, Ultron, Sentinel, Shocker, Sentry, Jack, Lady D...

Help me please Elora Danan GIF

    @Bogo
    Here you go, thanks.

    Mystic:

    Science:

    Cosmic:

    Skill:

    Mutant (most of my ascended 6s are mutants so I haven't invested much in this 7 class)

    Tech: (burned through most of my unit stash but got my man today; couldn't wait till June):

    7* Bastion and Jean Grey (I am very jealous). How do you like them.

    JG is great and carried me through a lot of the EoP fights.
    Haven't learned Bastion yet (other than just messing around with the lower rank version this week).
    Probably would still prefer to have gotten Onslaught and Serpent as 7s for competitive reasons, but these are iconic characters with really cool animations and solid kits.
    Everyone will have access in the next Titan pool so I'm glad they're not exclusive keepaway champs like BPCW QS and others...

    Who are you going to use against the first fight, doom? Let's start there first.

    If you R willing to spend revs, hulks stun lock can take basically every defender within 2 revs.
    I would highly recommend sinister as my R3 unawakened got me 7 solos.
    Cheelith is good for kill monger and thing I'm pretty sure.
    Ham is good for all mystics.
    You'll definitely need a heal block for sassy.
    Juggs kinda worked for bpcw.

    My team was R3 hulk, R3 sinister, R3 juggs, R2 overseer, R3 medusa.
    hulk was there to stun lock any difficult fights and doom.
    sinister carried quite a few fights.
    Juggs just did juggs things
    overseer + despair saved my run against sassy.
    medusa was only for vision(she's not awakened so she couldn't stop evade).

    I'm not too sure about jean and bastion as I don't know there kit but I am curious to see how they'd hold up.
    Tbh you can practically just throw revs at it and you'll beat it (except for sassy, definitely bring a heal block) so you'll be fine.

    Ok, thanks, this is very helpful.
    I'll try to rank up Sinister, and Bastion has easy access to pursuit, so he might be usable too.

    Hey, you again. I’m actually planning the Ordeal too. Check out @simula67 and his Ordeal Planning Tool. It will help you map out the quest easier. I’m currently brainstorming too on how to fit my 40 7* champs to finish this one.

    Just like the first you have to maximize the 5 slots so that 1 champ can take a lot of fights since there’s a lot of roadblocks here. Ideally you want a non-debuff evade counter, a Korg counter, an XL champ that can take a lot of other fights too, a Sassy counter, a Poison immune for iBom, and someone with Taunt for Vision, and a few more others but those are real roadblocks you must be wary of. You don’t need the Deathless champs. Your Cheel’ith will work on a lot of those.

    I’m going in too after a few rankups and a little but more tweaking on my plan. Mine is:

    • R3 Overseer S80 (Currently R2. Dry on rank up materials after Necro and Epoch): Doom, Vision, MODOK, Thing, Dragon Man, Mojo, iBom, Apoc, Sassy
    • R3 Kushala S20: Terrax, Killmonger
    • R3 Prowler S180: Spider-Ham, Nightcrawler, Spider-Gwen
    • R2 Red Skull S20 (Currently R1. I got a Tech Gem to R2 but no gold. Lol.): Weapon X, Domino
    • R2 Negasonic: Korg, Nick Fury

    I’m currently tweaking it a little bit because I don’t have a proper counter for BPCW. I’ll probably use Prowler for Void. I might get this done after I R3 my Overseer.

    Thanks, Simula is one of my top 3 favorite CCs to watch, so I'll definitely check that out. I appreciate the heads up.

    Good luck with your run. I actually saw Grass MCOC do his Ordeal run with Overseer crushing several fights, so you might be interested in that if you haven't seen it already. I kinda skipped over the video because I don't think I have any of the champs he was using, including Overseer, but Grass is another great youtuber with a very informative channel.

    Chee'ilth and Ham can do a lot of the fights.

    How many revives are you willing to burn?

    This is all I have left after EoP and my first Necro completion
    (I don't plan to start buying revives with units from the basic store, I would rather quit out or just chill and collect revives from the DSE and twitch stream and other drops):

    Yea, I love Grass! Been watching his Epoch along with Simula's. Grass is hilarious. Lol.

    I watched BMcG's Ordeal run, he also used Overseer a lot. 10 Fights out of the 20. He's also the one who convinced me 3 years ago that Overseer wasn't a dud. Lol.

    Btw, on your revive stash. You can use your spare energy to farm a few on Variant. You can get around 3-4 a day there.

    @TotemCorruption As already mentioned here, seriously suggest using Simula's planning tool (or even just a spreadsheet).

    You can't just swap like for like with champs because there is almost always a piece of utility that makes that champ work in that specific fight but won't have a comparable utility in another fight.

    List all the fights, and against that, list all your options and come up with a team of champs that appear most often with the necessary fight coverage.

    There might be the odd fight you can't cover, and you have to decide if you're going to brute force that or hold out for other options.

    Note that traditional roadblocks like wpx and sassy can be out damaged with red numbers, or the healing mitigated with despair and debuffs respectively. The benefit of using CC planning tools is they usually highlight the roadblock fights.

    The only fights i worried about were the regen ones.
    I used shuri for weapon x and Nefaria for Sassy, and 2/3 points in despair.
    Sasquatch didn’t regen at all,..and didn’t have a good counter for first two fights …but Chi’eelth took out doom and Nefaria nuked Terrax.
    Hope it goes well,,,good luck 👍

    May I ask how kushala does killmonger?
    Or R U going to brute force it?

    Polka Dot Power (Debuff) - states that you can't gain power from landing or receiving attacks but you can still gain power from other modes. Kushala gains power by placing a buff on the opponent. So she can get to a bar of power, apply incinerate debuffs (hopefully passives too) to gain more power almost permanently. Once the rotation is good, I can go for a Soul Barb and then just cycle through it.

    She is also Bleed Immune so that will work for the Sharpened Claws node (applies bleed on blocked attack).

    I can complete ignore the Enhanced Soldier and Cutting Wires node.

    I think she can work. Campo also used Kushala against this Ordeal Killmonger.
