Question about ai Deepdive

If the ai is so 'clever' as in it reacts so quickly hence the constant light intercepts etc, why does it take so long to bait a special ? Surely if your open and the defender has a special ready it should throw it like why would it not ?

    Youre assuming that it knows that that would be the most logical thing to do but it isn't that intelligent.
