You are saying doing one fight every two days is interesting? Why are we still playing this game.
I bet Kabam will see many players quit the game if they made this permanent

    Yes

You do realize that most of the player base does not play in high tier war where this supposed “strategy and planning” takes place? If by “many players quit[ting]” you mean those in Masters Alliance, sure. I’m sure Kabam would like to retain as many players as possible, but it’s also an inevitability that some players quit/lose interest/etc. However, Kabam’s main priority is retaining a majority of the player base. And if they like this new format, it will stay.
You have no idea about ecosystem of players, top tier alliances are predators of the ecosystem, game will be sick and eventually die without top tier players, this is the fact of all games.
You have no idea about the ecosystem of MCOC. Top tier players and alliances have come and gone throughout the years. You may be too young, but there were alliances like MMXIV, ISO8a, etc who used to dominate the scene. Now it’s different.

There will always be top tier players and alliances because there will always be juicy rewards for the best performing alliances, whether you agree or not.

And you do realise that most if not all money revenue from war comes from high tier wars?
They're the ones who are buying bundles, boosts, potions before every single fight just to not die because 1 silly death means whole war is lost.

Now the whole risk is put down in hole, for what?
"Hahahaha, what if only 1 fight per war hhahah"

“Oh gee. I wonder what has a bigger revenue stream: Masters AW (only top 20 alliances) or our LARGEST REVENUE MAKERS which are July 4th, Cyber Weekend, Christmas, etc.”

While those events are huge money makers it takes more than 4-5 events a year to fund the game. AW is probably the only reason top players spend in those events this watering down of aw would hurt those mega event sales.

    Completely missed the point,
I was specifically talking about revenue from AW

We can all speculate about the financial importance of several hundred Masters players vs the rest of the player base, but Kabam doesn’t have to speculate. They have the data and I’m sure it was taken into account when they launched this (admittedly odd) experiment.

They did say if they did make this perm the top masters and tier alliances would stay the same since they know they enjoy that part if war and they would look to make this perm for the lower tier wars so none of the masters alliances will leave if this became permanent

It is OK to keep both, the new weird thing can be a new game mode, or war mode for T4/T5/T6....

catering to only one side of a player base never goes well in any game. haven’t we learned this by now?

if you honestly believe that catering to “most of the player base” by any means, including scuffing the game for people who actually like to strategize, plan, etc will keep the game alive then i have a bridge to sell you. those “masters alliances” are the hardcore players that keep this game going.

This isn’t design problem it’s a bad incentives problem. Reward distribution compared to cost of competition are not distributed in a way that makes sense outside of masters.

that is exactly what i was saying the masters high tier war will be the regular format and the lower tier wars would be how it is going to be this season if they decide to make this format permanent i am guessing that the normal format would be for t1-t3 or even t4 and the tiers below that would be this current format
  • As a player who has been playing more than 7 years, im disappointed… a long with other friends…. Bc the only thing i love in the game is AW, try some deffenders with new Champions or buy the war boost everytime, now i think , it lost the point, is almost like if Alliance War, go to a sad: “Solo War” besides the category, some times when the AW is with same bonus at the end, and check the time is the key to win or loose, even more…now if just one day, one person loose 1 bonus…. I think is going to be more notorious and kicked out of the alliance, just like that, bc for 1 person can make loose the entire alliance…
I hope Kabam finds a solution, or maybe somethinng in the middle of both maps.

What the heck is Big Things: Force charge and Challenge debuff..
I usually don't read nodes unless they get annoying.. but even after reading it i don't get it.. can someone explain it to me.. I am not as active as before so it is difficult to grasp.

    1/ Bring Saga Champs
2/ Play or bring champs that meet the node requirement to gain high damage (e.g punish heavy or being incinerate immune)
