I fail to see how adding Tigra, FAM, Nick, and DP to your roster (all fantastic champs) would be worse than just adding Torch. I think Torch will be a great champ but we have so many science nukes now, I don’t see why people would be sad about picking up a bunch of top tier champs from HoF
I think Kabam’s intentions are clear at this point. Whether or not this situation causes us fomo, it’s become the standard. After Torch it’ll be someone(s) else and someone else after that…
Firstly I didn't have many units. For around 5k units I think I got my worth from HoF sale, July 4th wont give much for that less unit spend so yeah no regrets.
Since Dark Phoenix (who already had counters) just got announced a hard counter.
And since July 4 now can give you Torch (whereas HOF only gave iBom) if you saved your units instead of using them on HOF
Serpent/Bullseye took how long to get proper counters in BGs? And we got a hard counter to Phoenix announced literally right after the HOF event ended. At this rate, people are going to end up taking her out of their deck similar to when they took Peni Parker out when Hulkling and Galan entered the contest
What a weird post, it's like a half smug brag half copium post.
Firstly ibom wasn't the only champ in the HoF as you're well aware. Secondly both serpent and bullseye had existing counters in game straight away on release and now they both have numerous counter and guess what? They are both still in everyone's deck every season. A defender having a counter doesn't suddenly make them irrelevant.
And thirdly, two types of players got dark phoenix, spenders and arena grinders. The spenders will still get torch as they will max out July 4th anyway. The arena grinders made the calculated choice that HoF would better for their accounts at that time than j4 would be and I'm sure they are still happy with that decision. You sound like you're neither of those and are still bitter about it.
"Made the calculated choice" explain how its calculated when last year july/cyber monday gave mid champs in weapon x and kraven. This year its Torch
You have no idea what youre blabbering about. People bought HoF because of exclusive champion availability. Nobody was expecting Torch to be on the table for july. Had they known they may not have went all the way in HoF. For instance, i got all the champs 200 points in (halfway). I couldve saved the rest of my units for torch.
It could also be that youre daft and didnt understand the Torch part as if you read comments above several agreed
July 4th Torch hasn’t changed the fact that the HoF champs are exclusive my guy. Most people would still make the same decision even today because it’s 4 exclusive meta champs vs 1 meta champ who probably isn’t even gonna be as exclusive.
I’m surprised anyone is shocked that the team (1) realized selling decent champs is profitable and (2) decided to sell champs on an ongoing basis.
Did players really buy into all the “sanctity of the Contest” bluster we’ve been fed over the years?
Dr. Zola
Heres the issue i think most have, is the specific change in how they've done it compared to the past but also that the f2p chase champ is underwhelming
1) Last year we had Sinister as the chase champ, now what the f2p players have to look forward to is Mr Fantastic (a bench warmer in his non-buffed state)
2) Before, if you went all out in July /Cyber you could get a Weapon X or Kraven. Wpx is pretty mid at best and Kraven is worthless. Now this year we have Torch. I wouldn't be surprised if Cyber had someone like Archangel

I think it's fine for them to make more money. Definitely torch attract more deal than wpx. But unlike trophy champs, they should let torch enter titans within six months. I think that'll make this trade more balanced.

Calling WPX mid at best when he shreds in BGs is crazy work

I wouldn't say bench warmer, I think people are underestimating how annoying he will be on defense without a counter especially for those who run maxed Inequity. If you don't have a way to deal with the evade or the debuffs he's going to be a big time staller. He's also decent on attack just not a nuke, they showed 87k heavy attacks on the livestream so he will definitely have his uses for long form content which we've been getting quite regularly compared to previous years.

, nick fam tigra and DP are great on their own, and 3 of 4 were dual threats, which torch is just an attacker who nukes a very weak class.
And I'm 200% sure torch is going to be behind money deals, so I'm sure people who spent on HOF are really wise with their decision.
And having one counter doens't mean DP is trash. Bullseye has like 30 counters but still everyone have him in the deck, lol.
