This game is becoming more P2W day by day and it’s getting unfair
The fact that you're complaining about the game going from 99% of everything being acquirable by F2P players to 98% of everything in a span of ten years is not something I would get overly excited about myself.
Instead of this low hanging fruit, I would like to hear your thoughts on the actual issue, where/ when does this exclusivity for Non-trophy champs end? Why is there no news / set timeline for things like these. It wouldn't have been necessary before, but with the frequency with which these specially curated pools of champs are pouring out every saga, there has to be a set timeline to inform players of when exactly these champs stop being exclusive and get added to the basics
We do know that both the C1 and C2 finishers last season both spent maximum cash on the Red Guardian sale and maxed out the HOF event too. Now so did hundreds of other players, so clearly these two beat out a lot of other players with similar spending habits, so I'm not knocking their accomplishment. It took everything: spending, skill/practice, and time investment. But would they have finished lower had they sat out the sales or participated more modestly? I believe so. And will they continue to max out every sale regardless of cost? I believe so. This is the competitive design of the game now. Go 100% or go home.

If you’re aiming for the very top, you gotta whale out
Most people here I doubt are even pushing for celestial. I know for sure you can make it to Mysterium or something without spending and still get good rewards
Also this has become a real issue. The problem is not about paywalling champs but paywalling the essential champs that everyone knows will be able to perform great in BG or give a significant advantage. Champion acquisition is still a problem. Completing tough content and still being hit with bad RNG leading to just you ending up with a bad roster for BGs. You can counteract the roster problems with Skill but to what extent ? Need Kabam to really re-assess this thing, also have a look at this video...some valid points are raised. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEyPIo9GRr0&lc=UgykmvJqsEJ97TmaVMN4AaABAg

This comment would maybe hold weight if you weren’t still uncollected and you’re commenting on stuff you’re not even doing most of the time lmao
lol this guy is uncollected?
Ever since 7* rolling out with offers after offers I been saying that kabam is trying to suck and offer 7* to entice upcoming deals
There’s really not much for July 4th to offer besides rank up materials for r4’s…
And we all know rank materials all lower in value the closer we get to cyber deals.
So they need to offer something so you can “buy” in the moment.”right now”
Just like how a lot people have dark Pheonix and the rest of 7* because champions sell at the end of the day, and I know a lot of people aren’t buying or spending on regular 7* feature crystals to pull the champions where we can all wait for Titan pool to be updated.
After July 4th we are gona see people with so many r4’s it’s gona be crazy until banquet 2025.
I don't get the reasoning (well, I do), behind the "Hulkling is too OP for the game, he can't be on the crystals" argument, and 2 months later, HT is on sale. If HT is not "too OP for the game", why whasn't part of the -how it was called- lans month s exclusive crystal?

Makes you think on the next couples of sales what champions still fated by 6* how will they release them lol.
I made argument somewhere when I said torch will take over in bg’s as a staple and someone said he won’t.
But lol that didn’t stop a lot of people getting dark pheonix. Mine get auto banned 9.5 out of 10 of every bg match.

Yeah I'm failing to see what part of the game is P2W exactly. Are most people here looking to push for celestial? Because then absolutely you have to pay but you can push pretty high in BG without paying a dime and still get good rewards
Everything else you can just take at your own pace lmao. I do think the monetization has gotten a little out of hand recently with a lot of stuff back to back but it’s a gacha game, that’s like playing league and expecting players to be respectful
The only thing we can hope for is that soon (and by soon I mean within the next 6-8 months) we will have a Radiance 7* crystal with all the champs from Omega Days, HoF and every other big sale with top meta relevant champs. I get that the game wasn't p2w unless you were up there in Mysterium-Celestial until just recently but with Radiance now making such a huge difference in the game's economy, people are going to be forced to go as high as possible if they want to stay competitive in BGs and to a certain extent AW.
It's gotten to the point where the basic 7-star crystal has become irrelevant.
The Titan has become irrelevant to the point that I open it every 3 months.
Every Titan has a champion that completely ruins the crystal, and now there's going to be the Cyclops. I already paid for this **** in the pass, it doesn't make sense for it to go to the Titan.
I honestly don't know what to expect about the future of the game.
Apart from the fact that they only release defenders, for me, who is a planner and needs to set up an alliance war attack, it's terrible, every month there are two new headaches.
The good champions are acquired with money now, and worse, by luck.
I bought 200 Dark Fenix crystals to get her and I didn't get any 7-star champions with those crystals.
I had to buy the 2 7-star crystals that were formed, and I ended up getting all the undup champions. So even if you spend, they find a way to keep you from getting everything. The desire to spend has been decreasing and I've never seen so many people stop playing. My alliance had 3 whales who were pouring money into the game, and they all stopped playing. The other good players I knew gave up competing and became mercs. Competing is getting extremely expensive because Kabam has realized that resources for ranking up are not worth the same as champions. Eventually you will have more and more 7 star rank 4, this becomes easier over time. Good champions are just sold and if you don't pay, well, good luck leveling up average champions.

Completely agree. The basic pool is utter garbage for an end game player. This is why exclusivity has to be with a pre specified expiration date. Kabam has got to show some good will and release Omega Days to the basic pool.

Yeah but that is not always fun for those dedicated players... Me as an example I am a very light spender and I've done every bit of content possible, and have my sights set on finishing celestial as my next endgame goal. It is very disheartening to have the skill and the game knowledge to put up more than adequate fights against celestial players, but lose because I lack a dark phoenix, a lumatrix, a maxed tigra especially last meta, and now a torch... Being stuck m1 when I've won matches against c2 on my push to celestial is tiring, I've never felt this character gap as much as now
The real issue is they have ramped up the frequency (and cost but that's only a factor for moderate spenders) of these chase champs which imbalances the game. Yes spenders (and I spend though I have ramped it down) should be ahead but the gap was more reasonable before. With several chase champs every couple months, and an event almost monthly it's becoming a gaping chasm.
What it is is exhausting.
If the intent is to burn all but the whaliest Summoners out on chasing champs, then I think it’s working.
Also: The addition of new champs no one asked for (Eidols) as chase champs coupled with the glacial cadence for champ evaluation and buff feels like a significant misstep.
Dr. Zola
This reflects my sentiment exactly. I’m not against having some champs behind paywalls. I’m willing to pay $25 for a double track but not what it’ll take to get a Dark Phoenix or HT. That’s fine. But add in Red Guardian, DDHK, and the Eidols and it’s a lot of paying for champs . Money always sped up champ acquisitions but it feels different now. I’m ok not getting everyone or waiting but I don’t like feeling like that choice comes up every other week or month. If I was planning next year I’d look more to a Deathless model vs the Eidols. They don’t feel like Marvel characters and they lean heavily into this pay for acquisition overload.
I still regret spending 1k on banquet but now days they are quite exaggerating with the paywall. 50$ is not worth a whatever is the current key and side trash. Imo, not even an awaken 7* is worth 50 damn bucks.. Maybe it was the banquet let down or I just like spending my 50$ somewhere else = a full game, a couple of subs or kebabs with the lady.
They really need to chill out, it's like the July 4th deals all over again. The fact that they released all these absurd defenders in a span of like 2 months as 7 stars, made the gap between ftp and whales far too wide especially with all the r4 deals. They really released Jean Grey, yelena, Nick fury, FAM, dark Pheonix, and Lumatrix all back to back. I used to average C5 every season as a ftp, but I was struggling to even make Mysterium 1 last season
