Why do we have to earn points to vote?

Ant_WarriorAnt_Warrior Member Posts: 310
Looking at the new Summoners Fest event and as a non Battlegrounds player, good luck getting anything worthwhile.

Also we have to get to a good chunk of points alone to even vote for tune ups and reworks? Really?

Those shouldn't need to be point earnable rewards but something everyone can obtain casually since you're essentially locking out the ability to be able to suggest a champ you wanna see tuned up or reworked which as a player who doesn't do the majority of those bits of content it sucks cause my roster just cannot test them

Kabam places more value on the opinions of those who play the game frequently vs those who don’t.

I play the game every damn day. I don't do incursions or BG. I shouldn't be disqualified for voting on that basis.

If it makes anyone feel better, I don't wanna vote for something they are going to sell me on the next double track. So chances are I will vote for the dumbest option anyway.

They want the opinion of people who play incursions and BGs then. Don't feel bad, I can't sell my eggs in a fertility clinic cause I am a guy.
Very disingenuous. You never had the option to sell eggs before, and then suddenly in 2025 get disqualified.

Voting has always been a Community event, not a BG event. That's why voting happened even outside the game - on social media and such. You may quibble with who deserves to vote (which is a fraught argument), or that this is just the way voting for the 2025 tune up will be (like how one year voting was on social media, another year voting was in-game objectives, etc), but you can't argue with the fact that this is a new Voting method that drastically reduces the amount of players who can participate.

Tl;dr If you had something and have it taken away that will prompt a lot of complaining, compared to if you never had the opportunity in the first place.
Yes and all this years they always questioned the legitimacy of the votes anyway, so what is the point anyway right?
I mean Blob, Antman, X-23... People vote to then call it rigged.

The number of "rigged" players <<<< players who don't care < players who believe in the vote results. So the solution is to narrow the voting base by a drastic amount to accommodate the rigged believers? Sounds a little bit too much like real life, unfortunately.

I just can't wait for the hypocritical complaining when next year's tune-up only allows for Cavalier players to vote. Because they are probably the "salt-of-the-earth" middle class!

It narrows it to active people who engage on most game modes, seems better than someone login in their 15 alt accounts to vote.
Personally? I don't want someone who doesn't play most modes to have an impact on what champ gets reworked. For what purpose? Yeah the new rework is great for EQ?

    Just checked ingame.

    Champion tune up: 50k points
    Champion rework: 75k points.

What is even the problem here?
These two are the easy ones to reach without doing 70% of the things needed.

Smh. What a useless post. I'm out.

I feel like people are coming to the wrong conclusions with the rework and tune up rewards.

It makes loads more sense to me that these are rewards for the entire community. Once unlocked, everyone should be able to participate regardless of individual point contribution. We need only reach the total points required for the milestone. Otherwise, not only are they locking the champion buff votes to a lot less people, but also the Glitch incursions, the battleground meta vote, the Raid pool vote, and the Auto-fight champion stream. How are they gonna lock the Twitch stream to people who have contributed the minimum amount of points to collect the reward? I mean, maybe it’s possible? It still doesn’t strike me as the kind of move the game team would make.

Literally this, if you want to stop bot spam then don't specifically target 3 bits of content to be able to vote??

Like just make it where it's "X amount of fights won".

I have characters I want to vote for but I'm probably fully inable to cause of it

I fear you've misunderstood parts. A lot of these are outside of game rewards like the Summoner's Fest reveal and stream.

For the other stuff it seems to be in game rewards which those votable thing tend to anchor themselves towards

Being upset that a chunk of people are being literally barred off from a vote is literally something to get antsy about when I want characters I care about to be reworked or tuned up and other players have the same opinions

Lets see your points at the end of 2 months.
Lets even subtract the points you gaind from forcefully playing BGs from your total.

If you didnt reach 50k and 75k points by the end.
You can come back here and call me out.

Just FYI, you'll hit 75k points without trouble. We are overthinking this a bit too much.

I am not sure what you’re saying I’ve misunderstood. Yes, there are some outside rewards. I’m saying that I think many of those types of rewards, like voting for a rework or a BG meta, will likely be open to the entire community, except for the feature and content reveals, which will only be at the Summoner’s Fest. We just need to reach the milestone to unlock it for the community. The rewards alongside these, like Shards, Sig Stones, or PFPs and titles, will still require earning the minimum amount of points individually in order to collect them.
