I would specifically like an employee to respond to me but if there has been anyone with experience relevant to this then I'd appreciate your advice.

I purchased a GOOGLEPLAY giftcard "ONLINE" worth £82 last night. That was my first time doing so as I just recently discovered what giftcards are and how they work.

Wanted to pay for something with it after I bought it and received the code, I then attempted to redeem it but I got prompted with a "needs more info" error message. After going online and finding out other people experienced the same issue and with no means of it getting resolved, I proceeded to email both Google and the online store I got it from. I've sent out MULTIPLE emails and complains and still none of them have been responded to.

My question is, is there a way I can make online purchases with the giftcard in the game. Does the game take Google giftcards? Im asking because there is ABSOLUTELY nothing else on playstore I would use my money on and if worst comes to worst and I can't get refunded, it would be nice to have some form of pre-paid money that I could use on here.
I would not be so bothered about my refund and would probably be a bit more patient about the situation if I could use the giftcard on the game cos its absolutely worthless elsewhere.

If anyone has any relevant advice to the situation please help.
Its a large amount of money that I could've used elsewhere thats been spent with nothing to show for it.

why would you purchase a gift card from Google Play for use solely on mcoc instead of directly funding your Google Play account or purchasing directly from in game store? If you were given/ gifted/ found/ were "sold" a legitimate one then enter the account number and activation code. If the activation code doesn't work, find out why it doesn't or you're SOL.

Now, if you procured an "£82" valued card from someone for less than face value, I would suggest you learn from your mistakes.
So close, now re-read what I wrote but this time with your eyes open and your brain activated
I did. If you were looking at "10% off" or whatever reloaded.com tries to sell you, welcome to the world of crossing your fingers and hoping things go well on a third party app. Pay directly next time.
What third party app?? what direct payment??
    Are you actually slow???
Bros tryna have a "GATCHA" moment at all costs.
This ain't a "my account got banned" post
Gtfo if you have nothing meaningful to add
I'm trying to be nice. Recharged.com is a third party site. As in they're not Google or affiliated with Google in their transactions. They don't produce the gift cards, they repurpose them. I advise most folks to avoid these and purchase directly. That's all I'm saying. Use money for direct purchases so you have a direct paper trail.

Recharge was one of the few reccomended directly from playstore themselves so they're mostly likely trusted partners. I didn't just go on random sites looking for discounts till I found a 3rd party one.

There was no discount, I paid for the value on the giftcard. And it is definitely reflected there because when I click redeem, it shows the amount but on its way to redeeming, the error message shows up.

Fair enough. My kid got caught up in a gift card racket a few years back. Hope it works out.

My guess is you're in a different country than OP. His shows up when you are connected to a VPN on UK, yours shows when connected to an American server.

Thanks for this, now I see why OP was losing his mind at me. I don't see recharge either.

This is what I see, I just don't understand why I would buy a card at the same price I would pay Google. Althought I see the intention of gifting a digital gift card I guess.

This was bugging me so I did some research. I admit I saw "top up" and assumed BS since I know you can't top up Google Gift cards, but here's what I saw:

Select country and amount, easy enough

Punch in email address - important to make sure the email matches the Google account email, or no worky worky. Assuming that's in sync, next step:

This is where you lost me. If you're using a credit card to buy a gift card for use in mcoc, the direct purchase route would have saved you all this agita:

Plus maybe you luck into a $10 off coupon.

Anyways, if the emails don't match, maybe it's a country match issue, to which I offer:

Hope this helps eliminate possible issues. Good luck.

im not entirely sure how your gift card works, but are you able to add the the balance to your google play balance? I think that would likely be the only way to use it in -game

That was a very fast reply considering an issue revolving around money. 🤑
Really no way to win here xD Just happened to catch me coming out of a meeting haha
That wont work for store market purchases right? Those have more benefit than buying ingame usually and i dont think you can activate them for the store market

Thats the thing, I did not purchase the giftcard FOR MCOC. I wanted something else which happened to accept giftcards. I've spent on the game before and I just directly went through the webstore.

The point of this post was finding out IF THE GAME ACCEPTED giftcards because incase I do not get refunded, i might have to keep it and I wouldn't have anything else to spend it on except on the game.

The thing I wanted the giftcard for has already been manually purchased since the giftcard issue began. Giftcard was the best option because I had to pay for additional costs.

Now, im asking for a refund from recharge.com.

Incase I don't get a refund and the code works (magically) I wanted to know if i could use the money on my giftcard to pay for mcoc stuff in the future.

Which i think I can since a few people have said so.

So that's a much easier answer which everyone else gave you then: a Google Play gift card balance can be added to a Google play account, which then funds an in game purchase, which you know. If the Google Play gift card doesn't work with your Google Play account, you can't circumvent the Google Play API and apply the gift card balance directly. Play store is the transaction interface, funding sources like gift cards and credit cards funnel through that with no exception. It's not up to Kabam, this is how Google operates. I made the mistake of getting caught up in particulars but that's it as far as the specific Google Play gift card application to in game purchases.

After going back and forth 10 TIMES with recharge, they finally gave me the refund. Thank God. Never purchasing any one of these ever again in my entire life.
