Summoner fest points total makes no sense

AyemeboiAyemeboi Member Posts: 139 ★★
My alliance does regular raids, as I’m sure many alliances do, since we haven’t had enough people wanting to try nightmare raids. Due to this, we only get 1,000 summoner fest points per raid chest, with 3 chests in each raid. Nightmare raids give 2000 points per chest.

It was confirmed that there is a hard cap of 300,000 points for summoner fest, which is a little crazy for a ranked event, but nonetheless, I can’t reach that maximum for doing regular raids. Sure, that’s fine, I’m not doing the hardest possible option. But why are my points now limited. Between 3 raids in raid month and an additional raid in August, I’ve missed out on 12,000 points for not doing nightmare raids. Which again, makes sense for the ranked event that I wouldn’t be at the top. BUT WHY IS THE MAX REQUIRED POINTS FOR THE SOLO EVENT 285,000. Just by doing normal raids I’ve already put myself at a maximum of 288,000 points, which means that I will have to do every practically every super daily event and battlegrounds challenge just to get the max milestones. That seems outrageous and it is completely awful that there is a hard cap on the amount of points that is so close to the max milestones.

I have a valiant account with 32k prestige and 4 r4’s. I play daily and I feel like I’m a player that should be getting the max rewards, but I’m already at a disadvantage before I even knew it. Now I have only have room for a mistake or two, which really doesn’t make any sense to me.

It won’t be fun, but you can rerun incursions sections to make up the points. See where you are towards the end of the month and do a run or two to shore up your points.

The communication was half assed, didn't they used to make a post with a chart of all the event points and rewards?
They just didn't consider that some people might move alliances to be able to score the most.

I just hate I didn’t wait to claim the twitch drops until after the event. Now there’s a bunch of people ahead 🥲…in a ranked event…and here they are shrugging it off

I agree that this is something that they should correct. It is legitimately unfair. They basically got the equivalent of $700-$2,000 worth of points depending on how it was scored.
Ever drop mail gav 2.5k so in total 7.5k

Well then $2,000 worth of points for free. That is a severe advantage over everyone that either didn't earn or already claimed their drops. Those points need to be removed or everyone that didn't get them needs to receive them.

Or they shouldn’t have ranked rewards in them it dumb.

I don’t think they have included any summoner fest points in the drops yet? I thought it was for the streams in July and August. Because I just realized my twitch drops expired an hour ago and I forgot to claim them.

Here's a idea, just give 50 k points forall summoners for a headstart. 350 k points obtainable for a 285k max milestone is very fair for most players.

I don't know how to tell you this, but...
It's 4 raids this month, not 3, so regular raids all month, plus once next month, caps you at 285k if you 100% everything else.

This isn't helpful to your case at all, but I think people are failing to understand properly how this event works. To be clear, I don't like the setup. The fact that the ONLY way to differentiate yourself from the field is to spend a ton of money is ridiculous and greedy, and shame on Kabam for making that the only means by which players can outdo each other.
But that doesn't mean a realm event should be created in such a way that everyone gets everything either. If you want everything, you have to do everything. That's not a terribly unfair ask. You still get a bunch of stuff for stuff you were going to do even without the realm event.

I’m going to do everything, but I think the way they cap off the total points is not friendly to a majority of players. The fact that there isn’t any wiggle room to make a mistake it honestly crazy to me. The lack of clarity on their end to actually show how the points add up is another reason why this is poorly done. If the twitch drops from last week are included in the points, then tons of people missed on a milestone because you could claim them early. I can’t tell if that’s the case because “Collect twitch drops from July and August” is an extremely vague statement. Everything about this event, including the lack of knowledge on total points could have been fixed if they actually gave a heads up. Then my alliance would have done nightmare raids, but they didn’t mention it until after raids had started.

Why no one's talking bout this, you have to do every bg objectives for this month and next month, which means you have to play a lot of matches to get atleast 3 wins every 2 days, which is not even guaranteed most of the times. This event is clearly for whales and no lifers.

I got 3 wins in 6 matches…. And all it made me do is not care about this event anymore. Whatever I get in my normal patterns is fine with me.

Big time missed opportunity with this event that every summoner will be reminded of for 62 days. Brilliant.

50% win rate in VT. Now imagine the hell it would be in GC. Modok is tempting but my wallet is not big enough for them to milk.

Initially I didn't agre with you post, specially with the last part. You are not entitled to any rewards no matter how high your prestige is or what type of account you have.
I do agree that they should have allowed planning which they failed completely.
Its too many damn modes to be able to keep track. You can't quit an alliance cause War season, you can't quit cause of BG rewards, or Raids or whatever mickey mouse alliance event is running. They need to sync events or simplify them.

Ranked rewards are a good thing to have. Players that do more than the bare minimum should get more than players that only do the bare minimum. The problem is they put ranked rewards behind a paywall and that shouldn't happen on something like this where points are earned by playing the game. Keep that garbage to the banquet. Players that put the most time and energy into the game should get the most here, not those who spend. But Kabam doesn't seem to want to change course on this junk anytime soon.
    that was what i meant

I agree that I’m not entitled to the max rewards. I was heated when I found this out and just decided to drop some account stats in case someone did the typical “this event wasn’t meant for you”. At the same time, I think it’s crazy that I never even stood a chance to get the max rewards. I claimed the twitch drops early, so I’m already out of 2500 points. And my alliance leader signed us up for regular raids before we had a chance to realize that it constrained you from missing literally anything else. I guess my frustration was more with the fact they made none of the details about the event clear beforehand, so I had no time to prepare and pitch to my alliance to do the nightmare raids.

Yes. There were people who waited until after the event went live to claim and gave them points. It didn’t give points to the people who claimed their drops ON July 2nd.

Yep. If you would’ve claimed them you would’ve gotten points. Kabam has responded saying they only “intended for it to be” the two streams you referenced, but that doesn’t change the fact that people got the points from these past twitch drops. Unfair at that point bc you have people like myself and many others who claimed on day of stream not knowing to wait until event started. Now those people have a leg up

What bothers me most about that is how many times people complained on the stream about JUST getting HP pots. They stayed quiet, they just said it was a test. Why not come clear about it? Tell everyone who actually bothered supporting the stream what those drops could mean?

Half-assed communication would have been great. This communication was…far less than that.

And now we get a *fireside chat* posted to the announcements page that can’t take responses. Pinwheel does the heavy lifting (as usual), but the others just slip in and drop a largely unhelpful comment before slipping right out.

It’s a mess. I wouldn’t put a cap on what should be sent out as an apology for a completely botched event and update right after one of the big annual MCoC Spendapaloozas.

    Dr. Zola
I just said half assed to avoid things slipping thru the crack.

Oh buddy, I don't wanna give you more bad news on your calculations and all; but twitch drops was 7.5k not 2.5k

As I ve said already in another post, this realm event is a colossal failure. The game should not be felt like a second job for the two months straight. I totally agree with that people who are willing to spend their summer in the game should receive better ranking rewards or "bonus" milestones like those with 7* AG shards at the top, but the bulk of rewards (basically everything below the 275k milestone) should be available to the majority of casual players since its a "realm event" after all. I think the best way to salvage the situation is to lower the top milestone requirements by 100k points. That will put a reasonable demand on the minimal activity of the participating player base during the event and will make game not a tedious chore but fun as it suppose to be.

I don’t think they need to lower the points, but provide a few more ways to get an extra 5000-10000. If I miss literally one daily super event because I wanted to go out with some friends, now I can’t get the max rewards?
