ZERO power control is insanity. I knew they were gonna nerf her health recovery during limbo ;which they did) and I knew they'd nerf her power control to the ground… but Kabam said “hold my beer”

they should leave all the old rarities (5* n below) of Magik as is so can still randomly play with the champ we loved.

Didn't look bad to me either tho I can already see all the hate incoming because she did change quite a bit. So, sp1 sp2 took that Serpent down from 80% to 45% and then the second sp2 was overkill, second sp2 will always close out fights. That sp1 however immediately places her back at one bar so in total you have to gain four bars of power through basics and MD for her rotation it's basically like doing sp1 sp1 sp2. Paired up with maxed MD it won't take that long, the rotation is about as long as Pavitr's and we all know how meta relevant he is currently.

Objectively she doesn't look mid, it does however seem like they removed her power control completely which absolutely sucks, I didn't see any power steal or power lock, that's a big L right there they should've kept that to some extent.

Power control is where they really really really missed

also the dire degen damage concerns me after Dracula, but having multiple stacks with just sp2 and being able to pause them may be saving grace

let's wait for her deep dive and full kit

The most likely is that If you want old Magik’s power control , it’s going to be as a synergy for Colossus Age of Apocalypse

By the looks of it yes but we still don't know how viable she's going to be for other cosmics like Dark Phoenix and Thanos OR how versatile she will be for other classes OR how strong of a dual threat she will be since I'm assuming limbo will still be a threat on defense (if it's not then that's another L and I probably won't be interested in her) so I'm waiting until I can actually read her full kit before I make up my mind. Her loop as it stands seems to be on par with Pavitr's so in terms of damage output and speed it won't be bad I just need to see what else she has cause like you said countering just Serpent and nothing else is really not that crazy these days.

With all that being said tho, I don't think we'll ever see 7* Quake or Herc because I think people are going to absolutely hate this rework purely because of the power lock and steal situation.

I was expecting for her to have some sort of power control on the sp2 or even sp3, but it looks like they’re focusing more on dps, which is good. That Nightcrawler like dex works perfectly for her, she may even be able to take Photon, but we’ll see

I knew Power Lock would be gone. Had already mentally prepared for that lol. Figured they reduce the power steal and maybe give it cooldown. All of that would’ve been bad enough … or so I thought

Unfortunately, that’s not the way that reworks are done. Typically when a champion is reworked, every single rarity of that champ is included, from 2-7 star versions. Same with Cyclops, Dr Strange, Iron Man, etc

Its not though. They can definitely do it. Just look at colossus. His 1* was left in the old version because he was too hard for new players to understand apparently.

not really like tigra, the falter has timer and she can't keep holding heavy whereas tigra can miss projectiles for days

Not entirely true, Edison - they always retain 'legacy' versions of the champions for older content like the Abyss, Gauntlet, etc.

Plus, there's the (admittedly slim) possibility of Kabam bringing a tweaked 'classic' Magik back the way they did with Deathless Guillotine.
