Spider-Man evading iceman

I thought this bug was fixed, but facing a 5* OG spidey with my iceman, he evaded. Not as often as he should but he STILL EVADED.

Not to mention I knew something stupid was going to happen when iceman REFUSED to block 3 times after successfully dex evading

When it this game going to work properly? I’m getting extremely tired of getting screwed on BS when I’m fughting perfectly, exactly how I should be... just to be cheated by kabams need for money

To play a little devil's advocate, is this a case of "character rating"? I'm seeing a lot of 5* champs (especially high-level ones) significantly reduce the abilities of my champs.

For example, my 4* R5 AA has a 50% chance to inflict bleed with each hit of his heavy attack. So in theory, he has a 12.5% chance to not inflict any bleeds at all, with a rare chance to inflict 3. However, against the fully stacked AW bosses (usually R4 5*) and daily BP expert champs (6* champs), he frequently needs 2 or even 3 heavy attacks just to get one.

This may be a case of character rating run amok and is only exacerbated by even higher level defenders.

To be fair, I hate the concept of Character Rating as it currently sits in the game. It is literally impossible to determine how much your champs' abilities are affected from fight to fight because there is so much variability in the opponents.

IMO, if Character Rating is to be a part of this game, the developers need to be very clear with how R5 5* and the new 6* champs affect the abilities of the players' champs.

If we're talking minor variation (under 5%), it's not a big deal. But if my maxed 4* champs' abilities are effectively halved (or zeroed) against a 6* champ, then it's messed up. At the end of the day, Kabam really needs to be very transparent with this because it does effect gameplay.

Not to mention the Spider Gwen in 3.2 (master mode - cornered path) can evade my Crossbones even when the latter had 7-9 stacks of furies.

I think Gwen's evade is different than a standard passive ability because it's earned through an SP1 (like Black Spidey). I could be wrong though.

I hate to ask the obvious question, but are either champs evading Iceman after his debuff wears off? If so the champs are working as they should.

I often find that that wolverine's regeneration works less as AQ progresses from day to day, or even fight to fight. It seems like champions like him, and others who not only rely on critical hits, but have percentage based debuffs/abilities that work extremely poor against 5* and 6* champions.

Coldsnap is not a buff smh. its the debut with the three little sparkles in it that does damage over time, ice armor is the little armor buff, and frostbite is the passive that does damage when it expires/via a heavy attack

@r3zonate what debuff are you talking about? Coldsnap? That’s a buff...

Coldsnap is a debuff, the enemy gets a coldsnap debuff timer... takes damage and can't evade.

Coldsnap doesn't work on debuff immune enemies.

Gets shrugged off by enemies that can shrug off debuffs.

Looks like a debuff, sounds like a debuff...

Negative. Cold snap is a debuff applied to the opponent.
And it must be active for it to cancel evades.

This has been an issue ever since he was introduced. I pulled a 4* iceman when he was first introduced and currently use a duped 5* at r4. It randomly happens. Doesn't seem to happen in arena, only in war or quests. No clue as to why but his reduction isn't percent based, it clearly says "cannot " evade while under coldsnap. So you wouldn't think a node or challenger rating would matter, unless it's a debuff immune node.
That said it rarely happens to me but it does happen from time to time. Very old problem...one of my first posts on the old forum was about this.

Thank you for that example. Last week my Wolverine went 32 hits without activating his regeneration on Day 4 Map 5 against Electro, prestige was in the low 8,000s. Before that I had never seen Wolverine go 20+ hits without regenerating. Though this is not confirmation of your point, it could explain why this happened.

So... if Challenger rating changes the chance for abilities to proc even by a small percentage, then we’ve either been lied to from the start or it’s horribly bugged.

“Challenge Rating affects the following stats:
Armor, Armor Penetration, Critical Hit Rating, Critical Damage Rating, Critical Resistance, Block Proficiency, Block Penetration” - From the “Challenger rating explained” thread.

Ability accuracy should not be affected in the slightest, unless something is happening that shouldn't. Only crit rate and armor/etc. should be affected.

^^^ and that's the issue. There is absolutely no transparency on Character Rating.

I would suggest that Kabam update each character's abilities in the fight matchup screen when you're selecting which champ you are taking into that particular fight, just like Attack is adjusted for class advantages. Let me pull up my champs ability screen and see the actual numbers before the fight so I know how nerfed they are against these super-buffed 5* and 6* champs...

Yeah yeah whatever I meant debuff! Still doesn’t change the fact about Spider-Man evading under coldsnap which is the main subject here

That is all I was asking, if he was under the coldsnap debuff. It's definitely a bug, but there have been other bugs with Iceman and other champs, hopefully this will be fixed.

It seems to work almost all the time. But starts working when the debuff is about to expire (not always after). I think Mordo is one of those cases that always works.
