dont use any 4* unless its a star lord r5/5 max lvl and awakened. Dont use any other it will be a waste of revives. Use the following 5 stars: Blade dr voodoo, mordo, spider man (stark), magik, hyperion, nightcrawler, archangel, ghost rider, star lord, amd gwenpool (r3-r4) better to be awakened lvl 40 and up. You wont have to revive your champs as much. Next, i did the fight tons of times and I learned that ultron attacks first instead of blocking so block and the key to this fight is to do as much heavy attacks as possible to break his block then use your champs (the ones i told you) skills to get as much damage in. I have farmed this boss about 10 times now and have the Elders Bane badge on 2 differ accounts(beside my main. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE

Ultron is a robot. This makes no sense.
Medusa shuts down robots after shattering their armor (they can no longer gain power or have buffs).
Loki can place a curse on him stealing all his buffs, that makes him super powerful.
Since my Medusa was 4/55, that was the choice I went with.
Hella
Star Lord - 5* maybe but only at a high rank or with strong intercepting skills and only use his sp1
Nightcrawler - Critical hit damage is dependent on bleed vulnerability which is not the case with Ultron
Dr. Voodoo - Had mine duped at 4/55 for 5.4 and he was terrible against 5.4.6 Ultron, no poison vulnerability
Archangel - Terrible with Ultron’s double immunity
Stark Spidey - High potential but taunt causes impart to activate which can mean huge power gain and KO
From video footage and social media posts the top options for 5.4.6 Ultron seem to be Medusa, Loki, Blade, Crossbones, and maybe a few others. Ultron still gained power after I power locked him with Magik’s sp2 but I finished 5.4 exploration within the first week of its release so that may have been a bug like Ultron’s evade and instant counter-attack. Always helps to give reasons for advice on end-game content.
