Btw, anyone remembers the mercenary crystal? Or people milking UC in AQ going unpunished? Or people getting back their banned accounts by paying Kabam? Or a certain top alliance leader accidently admitting that one of their original members quit and his account was being run by someone else, and Kabam responding be deleting the thread and doing noting else? Or unit scammers only getting a 1 week ban initially? Or a very famous content creator not receiving a ban even when admitting account sharing? Why act surprised now?
What on Earth are you talking about? There was “nothing that could be done” about Aq fighting UC over and over to get almost unlimited points. There was “nothing that could be done” about people re-doing the quest that gave them 5* shards over an over to get 5* crystals. There was “nothing that could be done” about people using shell alliances to get extra Aw rewards.
Oh, wait. No that’s not right. Because even though they were “within the rules”, I.e. there was nothing explicitly written against it, kabam saw that this was exploitation and they rectified it. IN this situation, there is exploitation yet again. These top alliances, or anyone else, avoiding certain match ups so they can get better matchups is cowardly and ridiculous. It would be as though England rugby and New Zealand rugby has dodgy dealings to not play each other because they don’t want to lose. Or Barcelona football and Real Madrid agreeing not to play each other to maximise points in the league table.
If you agree it’s wrong then you should agree it needs consequences otherwise you’re just supporting kabam for the sake of it.
If that alliance had trouble to find AW matchups because they continued to search for 2BG AWs durzing AW Seasons that’s even more interesting. That would add up because AW defenses are lacking when all 5* champs are taken to r4 for prestige purposes, but I really hope that’s not the case.
Scale back a notch. Lol.
As it stands, there are no rules against Allies Matching whenever they want. If they choose to coordinate, that's up to them. There's no question I think it's wrong. You're preaching to the choir. I've been one of the strongest voices and educated people many, many times about the effect of this happening. I'm the one that has kept reminding people that it creates a monopoly on positions and stunts the progression of everyone else. I'm also the one that has been saying all along that Account Sharing is against TOS, and is cheating because more than one person is earning Rewards for those Accounts and it undermines people who are playing honestly. You can't sit there and imply that I am excusing it. I've been here saying it all along. The fact that it took Season Rewards for people to agree with me is hilarious. What I'm saying is, as shady and unfair as it is, it is within the rules because there is no logical rule you can put in place to stop people from Matchmaking whenever they want.
When I'm talking about said issues, I do it when it's appropriate to the situation. That's not what we have here. We have an Ally that wasn't able to Match the entire time Matchmaking was open. That's what was addressed, and the legitimacy was confirmed by the Moderator. This is not a doorway into every wrong thing that goes on in War. It's one issue that was looked at, and they told us to be upfront about it, not to open a Pandora's Box.
I can barely read this wall, please use paragraphs. They’re very simple to do, just the “return” key every so often. They’ll make your points easier to understand.
From what I could decipher, you seem to be claiming that you’re the sole protester that account sharing was wrong. Almost an indie “I did it before it was cool” kind of thing. Do you use Polaroid cameras too?
In any case, I literally never mentioned account sharing so I don’t know why you’re drivelling on about that.
When you come into someones discussion just to play devils advocate they have to then debate you, someone with a lack of knowledge on the topic. It's very frustrating to see this time and time again on this forum.
The fact is an alliance pre-war season wanted to look good and be top dog, so they avoided hard match ups to inflate their war rating. They knew for many many months at a high war rating they'd only get 2 wars a week.
When they season announcement came the math was very simple. Get 3 wars a week or you lose. Us other alliances with inflated war rating did the freaking math lol. We dropped our rating knowing we HAD to in order to be competitive in season. However, once alliance did not do the math, or didn't care, because they knew they could just complain later.
This isn't the first time such favoritism has been shown. Many saw what was needed, did the math, and prepared for the war season. Others just complained later when it didn't work for them. I'm glad the matchmaking change came, but look here. https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/48569/aw-matchmaking-update#latest
I specifically called out this problem before war season started. What happened? NOTHING. Not one reply from anyone at kabam. Why? because I have't spent enough to earn that.
Also, posted this on the Alliance Wars Seasons Discussion Thread. No reply.
The main problem is that virtually every alliance in the game has experienced in game issues not of their doing that has caused them to lose points towards AW seasons. Some people have had matchmaking problems, be it missing wars due to long matchmaking or blatantly unfair matchups. Disconnect/lag issues have caused people to lose Attack Bonus. Bugs like Defender Synergies not working and MODOK's auto-block triggering Parry have affected scores. Many of us have reported these issues, and those issues have fallen on deaf ears.
The rub comes not from the fact that they've taken action on a game issue that has hurt an Alliance's score. The problem is that when you do it for one person/group, you have to do it for everyone or it comes off as blatant favoritism. If everyone has to just grin and bear it when issues come up, then most can generally see things as being fair. When the powers that be step in and intervene on the behalf of a select few, it's not fair.
With recent high profile issues, Kabam is sending a terrible message to the majority of it's player base. The message one can take from their actions is that for 99% of us, our issues don't matter. For that other 1%, not only can you get away with ToS violations, but if an in game issue screws you out of rewards, we'll bend over backwards to keep you happy. I'm sure that's not Kabam's intended message, but actions speak louder than words.
I’m in a tier 2 alliance btw
How much does your alliance spend? If it’s not in the top 1% I’m afraid it looks like nothing will be done
