You can find reasons to justify something sinister if you're looking hard enough, but what you can't do is design artifically-intelligent RNG that instantaneously analyzes what you have, reads your mind for what you want, and then generates an outcome contradictory to what is desired.
I get it. Believe me. I Grinded 15k Points on Dungeon Day for a 4* BP. However, no one was setting that up. The computer generated a random outcome that wasn't what I wanted. That's about it.

I don’t want to tout conspiracy theories here, so I won’t. But on a more abstract level, you are utterly wrong. It’s easy to implement algorithms that gauge desirable outcomes. And act upon it. Really child’s play for anyone working in this field.

Example: player X has a lot of pink heroes that need pink goodies to rank up. That same player owns a single orange hero, which is maxed out. Player X has a ton of orange goodies. Now player X spins for some goodie. Outcome: orange goodie. That’s all there is to it, basically. Expand upon and refine as needed. It’s laughably easy to implement, given there are relatively few parameters.

I’m sure it’s utterly and totally random, because it is (amen), but if you think you can’t develop and implement algorithms like this, you are mistaken. It’s basically the same technique e-commerce organizations use to personalize your shopping experience. See also: Facebook. Et cetera. How can you not know this is not only possible, but being employed on a large scale?

Again, it’s RNG in this case. All random. To paraphrase good old Albert King: if it wasn’t for bad luck, players would not have no luck at all.

Every once in a while the planets align and I find I agree with you @GroundedWisdom. This is one of those times lol

different thoughts though. i feel that this game is not really RNG but more on a player bias level. In our alliance we had a couple of incredibly lucky bros who pulled and duped their 5* blade, stark spidey, GR ,IM and all other god tier champ while the remaining of us gets champ like she hulk, IP, groot and antman .. etc.. perhaps it's all about when you join the game at that specific moment, your fate has been decided lol... Youtuber seem luckier all becos they only post good openings ..

I know a few guys that get the featured champ every time and were like 80% on the old featured 5* crystals (I am 0-14). Seems like the same guys used to get the featured 4* etc. But I can't believe Kabam would randomly select some accounts for higher drop rates. I guess if you want to go full on conspiracy theory, a few lucky accounts might cause others to spend believing that their luck has to change. But I doubt it. If something like that were going on all it would take is one disgruntled employee in a position to know what was going on to blow the whistle.

it's still happening.. the same guy who's also able to pull of a 4* from log in crystal. some accounts are just plain lucky for reasons unknown. by the way, those who are getting great pulls are all "free to play" accounts and never spent a dime on this game beside the occasional 1 dollar 4* awakening crystal.. so i guess kabam doesn't favor based on spending

If Kabam was really all about balance as they say they are, I have a real hard time believing that they would make it completely random, because then the odds would be same for the rng giving out tons of god tier champions and super-usefull items to the point of unbalancing the game as it would be for the ring giving out more **** champs and useless items. That would be leaving the balance and order of,the game,to chance. The only way to achieve this so called "balance" is to award a good champ and useful items for so and so account only x% of the time.

It's the rule of thumb in this game, you always end up with what you need/want the least.Sometimes I find it hard to believe its random. And this goes for more than just dungeons.

the mfing truth..I needed or hoped for a T4C mutant catalyst from infinity dust crystal but pulled two mystics T4C that I don't even need at all for the foreseeable future..all that work to pull the same catalyst is funny

It's also why I have 7 mystic t4cc, every time I opened one, needing anything but, I got mystic.

I hear ya..same but it's only been two mystics so far for me..watch they do a T4C sale soon which I may have to buy to get that darn mutant one I need

I get good champs all the time, 4 and 5*. It's just that the people that don't have the need to complain, don't post on the forum. This way it seems a lot of people have "bad luck", while it really is just that, bad luck.

Also i get the impression that many people will only be happy if they pull a god tier 5* and thus get disappointed all the time.

To all those that say it's just random, I again quote the example of Spiderman Unlimited. When someone from inside leaked the drop rates, the garbage spideys had a higher rate to drop than the good ones. I still haven't seen any evidence to the contrary in MCOC of this behaviour, so my inclination is to believe that this is true.

Whomever came right out and declared it was 100% random? I never saw an official announcement that said it was 'pure' RNG. Are advertisements you see online random? Are recommendations in web shops random? Of course they are not! Those are all based on (e.g.) click- and buying behavior, identifying possible peers, cross-referencing their behavior with yours, and making (automated) best guesses as to your current interests. Then you are shown what the algorithms think might make you greedy/happy. Why else would Artificial Intelligence engineers and Advanced Analytics specialists be in higher demand than gold these days? Hint: it's not because they small particularly good or mix a mean Caipirinha.

There's no secret society at work either - it's just the way the world works right now. Nothing mysterious about it. I can't wrap my head around the naivety so many people exhibit when it comes to self-learning algorithms. I'm not into conspiracies here, I'm only pointing out that predictive algorithms are par for the course. Wake up and smell the coffee. Whether or not a particular game implements them - and that would be very easy to do, since all info is potentially known, more so than in many other scenarios, including web shop environments - is not up to me to say.

I feel you. Out of the 5 5* Awakening crystals ive gotten I've pulled 4 mystic gems and 1 science. Decided not to try to go for the awakening gem from this monthly event as im most likely getting a 5th.

The "RNG" in this game is so flawed. Whenever im low on a certain class resource i pull a good champion of said class, normally i just pull **** cosmic, tech or mutant champs i would never waste resources on.

Dungeons is waste of time. Got Magneto awakened. 1sig. It’s ridiculous. No 6* shards either.

Dungeons is also the cause of the servers going down. Just get rid it until the game is more stable.

    Also. Thanks Kabam for compensation.

After this season ofAW, 4 of my cousins and myself are quitting the game. As much as we would love to get great 5 star champs to complete content like LOL the rng is garbage at best. You will most likely get a champ that you can't put to use than one that will be beneficial towards your progression. Going back to ps4 gaming after this.

It's random. There's no pseudo-psychic programming predicting exactly what you want and need. Lol. I get that it's frustrating not to pull what we want, but let's not get too carried away.

Video game designers hire social engineers. What exactly do you think they are there for? I don't see ANY reason why it is not possible that they engineer odds and code to predict and elicit the most addictive type of scenario for players. There are hire-able position for exactly that! It is super easy to stick "If/then" code everywhere in order to facilitate the need to keep grinding and opening and playing for that elusive resource that YOU need specifically.
    Come on son!

    Hello all,

It's understandable that you may be disappointed with a drop from a crystal from time to time, but there is nothing more complicated involved than just luck. With that, this thread is not constructive and as a reminder, posting false information or conspiracy theories is not welcome on the forums.
