AA is overrated. On paper he is amazing, but practically there are too many bleed/poison immune nodes/champs to where he's pretty much gimped all the time. I never see him being used in war anymore.
Iceman is literally always good to bring and use. He's too good.

Basically this, AA just isn't close enough to iceman to really have a debate.
Damage: debatable. Yes poison immune is a sore spot and bleed immune is altogether diabolical but does Freeze really do that much outside heavy noded defender? I’m going to give this to Archangel on the count of bleed immunes being his only real hinderence and being able to deal nearly 20k by blocking a single special with Archangel (poor poor Carnage/Ragnorok)
Utility: iceman is fully anti-evade but Archangel is full anti-everything. The biggest boons Iceman has are Sp3 surviability and evade Immune including Mordo. Archangel however is anti-defensive altogether and barring Mordo Anti-Evade. I’m going to give this to iceman due to the autonomy of his utility while archangel does require some special care.
Survivability… Iceman but there’s a catch! Let’s be real even after inequity Archangel is still not a tank and Iceman can’t kill quick enough for ice armor to be anything more than an emergency Sp3 protector. Archangel however can often kill before the Sp3 if he opts for a little extra chip damage from block.
Ultimately however this is a case of sibling rivalry but what archangel gives up in some “overall” use he gains in his reputation as the “Angel of Death”. Personally I’d be willing to give up some matchups to just dominate the rest (including MODOK and Magik… and Mordo who he still beats)
Well I still don't have iceman, so maybe he'd change my mind. But for now I have to go with AA, he melts through anyone who is not Bleed or poison immune. He's super valuable for questing and I bring him in pretty much every quest. Not as valuable in AW and AQ anymore with lots of defenders having an immunity and the introduction of sentinels, for sure. But that heal block, ability accuracy reduction and crazy damage is still very useful in a lot of quests.

If you can partner him with Iceman, even better.

AA is one of the best against Mordo...
