Tanking alliance wars for lower rating to start the season

I remember before season 2 started, Kabam was saying how fantastic the new upcoming season was.

In the end, it became a war of cheaters, liars, piloters, etc.

What an embarassment....Now, we have the alliances who are taking their rating so they can get better matchups at the beginning of the season.

Now, some will say this is a good strategy, but there is a moral thing here. The chinese did it in the bandmiton in the Olympics and everyone frowned on it?

Why doesn't Kabam see these things? Now that everyone knows this, let's all tank

Probably because for them it isn’t consequential, they’d rather milk the whales than fix a faulty system that only hinders the playerbase

Yes. It's totally silly. I might be force to tank also since no one seems to care.

Why would you want to tank your rating? That means less rewards for the alliances per war. Am I missing something here? Oh, but kabam tanks alliances ratings if caught cheating and nobody has ever said that helps them in AW. Yes it allows guarantee wins until your back at the regular tier

if you are high enough up, you can probably tank your rating without dropping a tier, and the season rewards are more coveted than a few individual alliance wars in the off season

Some are losing on purpose and selling off champions to drop so when the war season starts they dominate and place high in the season to get the better rewards.

Yeah they may get less per some wars but they are trying to take advantage of this busted system kabam created.

The difference here and in other scenarios mentioned is that every war gives rewards. By tanking, they are giving these up for an 'easier' placement. However, its also a balance because they have to figure out where they want to land, and even then, its not guaranteed.

I compare this to before seasons were a thing, an alliance would automatically give up on a war if they got to a certain tier. It gets harder, they don't want to do it, they give up rewards for one war to win others and save resources.

Tanking can backfire just as easily as it will benefit, and will only work in certain scenarios anyway. Is it moral? hell no. Is it an issue? nah. let them.

New seasons are only 4 weeks. Add In the peak milestone system to other areas of the game. People don't like to wait, ppl don't have patience. Ppl need instant gratification. So season 3 is starting, and along comes dungeons, cinematic quests, new eq, quick match changes... People don't want to live in the game 24/7 to complete everything. So the faster they can get thru one thing, the sooner they can go to bed, go to the bathroom, eat a meal, drive to work, pay attention in school....
Kabam knows that the longer they can keep people active in the game per day, the higher chance of them spending.
Not everyone is in top tier alliances. A good portion of this forum is tho. So you only hear about what's going on in the top and nobody cares about what's going on in lower tiers because hey... top alliances don't care about anyone else. Watch these forums long enough and you got your proof to back that statement up. Just maybe top alliances are tanking there ratings because they know they are in the spotlight and can't get away with cheating now like they were before so why stay in a bracket they know they can not win in.

I have been tanking my alliance rating as fast as possible, yet for a very different reason, we hate expert map wars and want to move away from it as much as possible, we prioritize fun over more rewards! It would be great if Kabam give us a map choice similar to AQ...

What does selling champs have to do with anything

First how would you prove that they lost on purpose, second in the long run of the season it only helps on the few first fights, Its not worth looking into ,and It really only effects the die hard war players, so who gives, lol
