tips for a n00b

I have been playing for about a month now, and have been enjoying it so far. But I am hitting a bit of a wall, and wanted to solicit some tips from the vets. :)

- I have 100% Act 2 and 96% of act 3. (Last quest of 3 is 0%, and only one not 100%.) Currently not strong enough to continue.
- I am working on the Heroic level of the current event, but it's tough! Finally 100% the Heimdall quest after buying a lot of heals. Kind of dreading the ramp-up on the next one.
- I have no 4* and have only maxed a few 3*.
- My go-to team right now is 3* Nebula, 3* Gamora, 3* Ant-Man, 2* Drax, 2* Rocket. All maxed. Drax and Rocket are strictly for friend buffs. All but Nebula are awakened, but few levels on the abilities.
- I haven't done any Vs, nor am I in an alliance.
- I refuse to microtransact. I will grind as necessary.

Is it worthwhile to grind old quests I have already 100%? I need gold, pretty bad. Lol. Should I drop units on crystals for that off-chance for a 4*? (I don't have much.)

Any tips on where to concentrate next would be appreciated. :)

Join an active alliance you will really benefit from it plus if you can grind arena to improve your roster

Start grinding arenas. That is by far the easiest way to rack up gold and units, which in turn you could use to rank up your Champions. I would advise not to invest in premium hero crystals. Sure, you could get lucky, but mileage varies.

First things first, you should join an alliance. It will slow you down in terms of story quest progression with the AQ and AW, but you'll get 4* shard rewards a lot easier and you will be able to get a stronger team. And story quests are not going to give you much gold so no point running old quests again. The arenas are the best place to grind for units and gold so do that

    Here are my 5 cents:
      [-]
No! Dont you ever drop units on Crystals! 4* will come along.
[-] Unlock masteries, the more expensive the mastery, the better
[-] Concentrate your ISO on 4*, then on 3*, then on 2*, never do backwards, otherwise you will waste ISO
[-] Do arena. You will get the crystals and units you need, again no spending on crystals: EVER!
[-] Try leveling up with your XP boosts. The higher the level, more masteries points you will have
[-] Dont sell champs, you havent mention anything like that, but just lets keep safe, and no selling champs

I sold a few 1* when I first started, becaue I had the 2* already. Stopped that after a few days. :)

So I guess I'm in the market for an alliance. :) I have been hesitant, because I know I'm very weak compared to others. I didn't want to take a spot wanted for a stronger player.

Play 1v1 as much as you can this month and get all 20 champs.
Even though its only 2*. You will look back and be glad you did it.

There are alliances out there which are willing to help lower level players to grow. Joining an alliance will help you a lot. The rewards (especially the new peak rewards) are awesome and you will build your roster in no time.

Also, grind as much as you can in the arenas (prefferably in the 3star and 4star basic). The milestones give you lots of units which you can use to unlock masteries, as well as lots of crystal shards, which will help you develop your roster.

    - Best thing I did early on was unlock Parry and Dexterity masteries. Until you get higher rank, these are the best.
    - Grind arenas for units and gold
    - One thing I also did early on was grind the daily quests for basic/class catalysts
    - Do NOT re-run the Story quest. That energy should go to daily/event quests
    - Be selective about who you rank up. Unless you have a good champ to rank up, hold your ISO until its about to expire
    - Definitely join an alliance, that's the best way to get crystal/catalyst shards consistently

Take advantage of the bracket system in arena while you can.
There is a beginner bracket for accounts less than 60 days old and you will be able to obtain champs that way.
I am not sure how the beginner bracket works entirely because I never got to be in it.
But grabbing a 4* from the 4* basic arena should be relatively easy at least in comparison to after 60 days when you get thrown in with everyone else.
IMO that's what I would focus on and then after 60 days join an alliance. Act 4 can be done with 3*s but you will have a lot easier time with a few 3/30 or 4/40 4*s

Unless it is a 3* that will dramatically help for a certain game mode, I wouldn't invest too many resource's in to them as you will out grow them pretty quickly. You will find the higher the star lvl champ = more gold iso and higher lvl cats to rank them up. Unless you think you want to continue some sort of grind in the 3* arena

There are 4 essential masteries that help a ton as well: Cruelty, Precision, Parry and Dexterity
Get them as soon as possible, and this should be the only thing you are using units for if your goal is to remain free to play.
    Parry minimum 1 point
    Dexterity minimum 1 point
    Cruelty 4 or 5 points
    Precision 4 or 5 points
Cruelty and precision are the most pricey to unlock of the 4, but help immensely with potential damage output of everyone.
After you get those you will want to educate yourself about other useful masteries that you can invest in.

    Just did 10/10 and snagged 7 champs I didn't already have. Now I can 100% this week's Gwenpool. :)

Well, I was mistaken. Was thinking of last weeks, and I didn't get the needed champ anyway. Lol. Ah well, more 1v1 then.

    Honest words from me;

If you are already playing for 1 month and still got no 4*, I will suggest you to start new account again... new accounts are easy to get 4* because of arena beginner/intermediate brackets for the first 60days of new account creation... however, you will have to grind arena till your fingers fall off in order to get as many 4* champs from arena

Since posting this thread, I have opened two 4* champs. For me, that's fine. I'm more or less a casual player, and as long as there is some progress, I'm happy.

Just the basics for now, and one point in Dex. Currently saving up the units to unlock a few others.

not true @MrOnizuka when I was a new account, I didn't had a 4* for about 3 mnths, my first was a 4* Vision (AoU), now it's been about 5 mnths since I've started and I've 10 of them

And thats because you didnt abuse the new account arena system... my account just graduated to veteran and its at 63 days, now i have 32 4* and 2 5*... got most of my 4* from beginner/intermediate bracket arena
