Rouge vs lol wolverine

I have pulled off kills on high ranking wolverines before with rouge and can keep the regeneration going all fight, starting with a sp1 to steal it and then sp2s to keep him away from a sp3. I was wondering as the lol wolverine has two separate ways to generate regeneration is it counted as one buff or would I need to try to steal two, ether way has anyone tried this method of besting him, I do not have any regeneration reversing champs. So this seems like my best option for countering him to me, what do you think and do you have any other ideas on how to get by him.

    He gets regen when he's hitting and when he's being hit, so as long as you don't get hit, stealing one should be fine

    Rogue could work but one slip up you’re basically toast with the regen.

    Not sure if you know, but the champs in RoL don't have the sp3 active, so you don't need to worry too much about it
