Iceman ice armor and Mephisto

I know Mephisto negates/prevents all buffs at the beginning of the fight but I didn't realize he prevents Iceman from having Ice armor the entire fight. I rarely fight Mephisto and when I do, I use Rhulk or Void. I just happened to fight him in aw today using Iceman and noticed this and so took my Mephisto and dueled an Iceman and got the same result.

Is this a bug or has this always been the case?

    The only way for ice to get armour back after meph cancels out at the start of the fight is to use ice’s s3

    Yeah this works with armor shatter too.
