Getting intercepted whilst dashing back

Hello everyone, this didn't happen before but ever since chapter 3 of act 4 9 out of 10 times whenever I try to dash back for building a poise charge I get intercepted. Does it happen to anyone else? If not then can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Also this doesn't happen in arena or duels. Thank you.

    Dash back right before they hit you not as they're dashing towards you
