How do I stop OG Vision when Synthesis is INSTANT DEATH??

HQ101HQ101 Member Posts: 422 ★★
So, I quite often now have to take on a 10k OG Vision in AQ.

Is it me? Or has Kabam equipped this champ with an INSTANT DEATH ability in Synthesis?

I have taken some solid champs against him too. R5 level 99 Thor. R4 Five star Captain Marvel. It doesn't matter. Whenever Vision decides the match is over, it's Synthesis Time. You will either die or lose over 3/4 of ur health from the impending doom L3.

Is there ANY way to defeat Synthesis? Keep it from triggering? Cuz best I can tell, it's completely Random.

Yet another Kabam given ability it seems that has NO Counter Ability to defeat it.

It's not as bad as you're making it. I too, take those fights. You either use a power drain champ, or bait those sp1. I never gets to sp3 against me. You screw yourself if you keep hitting him past one bar of power.

@HQ101 , in normal game modes, he is easy -- simply bait SP1 and anticipate Synthesis. However, in AW, nodes that have power start 2, guarantee instant SP3, which is just stupid

You never let him get above 1.25 power before synthesis. Bait that out before he hits synthesis again. It gives you plenty of time to bait out specials. Also bring a power manipulation champ for him if that method doesn't work well for ya.

If you do not use a power control champ then it changes how you have to fight him.

Once he gets a full bar of power you have to be defensive and bait his special. There is even a chance that he may get another bar of power while you are attempting to bait him. But because he generally has lower health he is beatable in AQ on map 5 without a power control champ.

Synthesis happens every 20 seconds or so. He'll gain less than 2 full bars of power during synthesis, so keep him at 1 bar of power or less when he's close to synthesizing. After synthesis, bait the specials and attack aggressively for the next 15 seconds or so, pulling back when you think more power is coming.

Restraint is key to beating him unscathed.

I take the same path and use thor, it's not that difficult.

As others have said, you just need to bait his sp1 but the synthesis occurs every 20 seconds I believe so you do sort of know when it will occur and therefore can plan ahead.

Even day 5 though, you only have to bait 1 maybe 2 specials, get 2 armour breaks and fire off your sp2 and he's dead.

I know not everyone uses thor but you did say you had tried him with difficulty.

I honestly didnt know how far Synthesis took his Power Meter. I swear it seemed he went from less than 1 bar all the way to red. But if its 2 bars he can gain, still seems like the potential for trouble. What if ur trying to bait his L1 and he doesn't bait in time? Synthesis will just take him red anyway.

Yes, but those are rare instances when he generates two full bars that close together. And when it happens there is nothing you can do unfortunately.

Like others I take this path...bait his special 1 and just be aware of how long it's been since his last synthesis. I'll push him to his lvl2 if he just had synthesis..

I just keep baiting his L2 easier to evade don't let him get to his L3 once he trigger synthesis bait special don't let him get more than 1 bar

Synthesis power gain is a fixed amount depending on sig level... there no occasions of less or more power ..

I know it is a fixed rate...my point was more about the times where his synthesis power gain occurs almost back to back or at least within 5 seconds of the last one.

His synthesis is on a timer like Grufty mentioned but it's 25 seconds. You can watch the fight timer and know when it's coming. The 3 mins starts right when you start running towards each other so it'll be delayed a little bit. After his initial synthesis, he'll get it again at regular intervals. I try and make sure he has less than 1.25 bars of power at 2:35, 2:10, 1:45, and every 25 secs after. His synthesis procs a second or so after those marks so you can also try and stun him to get pacify to stop it.

But it doesn't. It's about 20 seconds between Synthesis triggers, so there's no 'back to back' power gains. But yes, bait his L1, be careful and defensive, and if you have the Pacify mastery, there's the chance you can interrupt his Synthesis cycle, although it's hard to judge without a timer there.

By definition his signature ability is "generates power randomly." There is nothing in there regarding a timer unless you are talking about a buff on the map.

I've seen it trigger in Realm of Legends way faster than 20 or 25 seconds. At least there you did not have to worry about taking his third special though.

i take the OG vison lines in sections 2&3 of map 5, for me it's purely a case of playing super aggressive once he's used L1. I have r5 Thor level 75 and it works fine. If you eat a L3 on both lines it's ok because you only have rr, im or a symbioid to deal with and they're all 20 second fights.

Need a timer rather than random. Like synthesis x amount every 10 sec.

It's like every 20 seconds, if I can handle a 10k vision in map 5 with my 4/40 GR I'm sure you can handle it with a 4/55 cap marvel

Their definition of periodically is a timer, but I say 'about 20 seconds' because I can see them putting a variance in the timer where it occurs after 15-25 seconds or somesuch. But there have been fights where I have counted out 20 (or watched timer at top) and it would happen on schedule, and some where it would be at a 21-23 count instead.

I don't think it is on a timer though. Having just recently beat RoL it definitely was random in how it processed his signature ability. While you are right that it generally only occurs every 15-25 seconds, there were times when it would process a lot quicker (maybe triggered by a more aggressive attack). Either way without knowing the logic or how it is coded to process assuming it processes every 20 seconds is just not good enough.

It is for sure on a 25 second timer. I remember a post Kabam Mike was commenting on it. Check the clock, he will get the second one right around 2:35, then another at 2:10, 1:45, 1:20, 0:55, 0:30, 0:05.

@Kabam Miike Can you provide some insight on this? Is it truly random? Or is it set to some sort of unofficial timer? Thanks.

I guess we have to wait and see. If it is supposed to be on an unofficial timer in AQ but is processing more or less then it would mean there is a bug.

This thread is making my brain hurt. Keep it simple. As soon as you push him to 1 bar of power, bait it. When he uses synthesis, instantly bait it. Problem solved.

He's not as difficult as this thread is making him out to be. AW is a different ballgame and you'll run into dozens of bull**** champ combinations to nodes. It's just the way it is, if you can't handle the heat of AW don't join it.

His sig works on an invisible timer, just like Ultron's auto-evade. As people have said above it's between 20 - 25 seconds.

It may be different for the EX Vision in LoL, but regular Visions run like clockwork.
