Doc. Octopus heal reversal against Uncollected Red Hulk NOT WORKING

5* Doc. Octopus (sig. 20) vs Uncollected Red Hulk

I'm trying to use Doc. Octopus heal block against Red Hulk but even with 25 regens on it, if I hit Red Hulk while he has a the heal block on him he only takes arround 25 damage per regen while I do regen way more than that.

Doc. Octopus heal block reads like this: Heal Block Debuff to the Opponent which lasts 5 seconds. Deal Direct Damage equal to 100% of health gained and Lifesteal 20% of the damage done.

What am I missing? Why Doc. Octopus heal block (reversal) doesn't work like others?

maybe because its a passive regen effect and not an active one like wolverine or x23s?
    just a guess

It's weird because it deals some damage, but no way 100% of the regen.

sounds percentage based on the returns 20% of it done back to you. Does his heat charges stop the dmg aspect of his regen when it’s effected by the heal block?

The lifesteal is working fine, the problem is the damage from the heal block being too weak in comparison to the amount of life Red Hulk would heal.

I don't know exactly how it works since the wording is weird and not consistent. But his dup ability doesn't allow him to reverse 100% of the healing

What I was trying to say (prob reaching) is that his dmg reduction abilities might be affecting the dmg done on the “reversal” for this particular 5 second window.

I’m wondering if this is explained by the “direct damage” or made completely wrong by that. 😂

He’s supposed to block not reverse I believe

Heal block + direct damage is more or less heal reversal...

I’m saying it turns into damage which he can resist. That’s my theory. Unlike with despair that actually just stops it by a percentage causing it to go into the negative with void. Doc oc is simply stopping it, doing damage instead. Not reversing. The wording is what I believe causes it to be different than an actual reversal.

The wording leads to a lot of misunderstandings because it also says that "Deal Direct Damage equal to 100% of health gained" and since he is heal blocked he won't gain any health...

There is no official word about this?

It’s the way Doc Ock’s signature ability works. His base abilities give him a heal block on the chemistry breakthrough unduped. His signature ability states that “each breakthrough is replaced by a new effect”, which is where it says for the chemistry breakthrough, “deal direct damage equal to 100% of health gained and lifesteal X% of the damage done”. So duped, he doesn’t actually heal block them, but just does direct damage equal to the amount regenerated instead. This is how he’s always been and supposed to be.

To clarify a little more, it basically lets them regen and just takes away that equivalent amount of health. Same goes for his power lock. He only actually power locks unduped and allows them to gain power when duped, but just drains 100% of power gained.

So, if Red Hulk has 30 regen buffs on and regenerate , for example, 10.000 hp per tic... why he is not taking 10.000 damage while heal blocked?
I need an example because I don't get the maths.

If duped, Doc Ock doesn’t actually heal block. His signature ability replaces the heal block, so it would allow Rulk to regen 10k per tick while simultaneously dealing 10k damage per tick. It’s essentially still a heal block, not a heal reversal. The reason for this change from unduped to duped is so you can see the numbers of what would’ve been regenerated and be able to see where your lifesteal numbers are coming from.

    Oooohhhhh, I see now.
It's a mess off numbers because it doesn't make damage equal to the regen in a single 'hit', but instead does it like some kind of damage over time.
That's why you see all that low damage but it sum up to the amount healed.

Thanks for your time @Kenny292 !!!
