Consequences of Taking a Season Off War

My alliance is looking to abstain from war (or just doing itemless war for the residual shards) in order to focus on AQ for greater rank up material.

We're not sure and would like to know what would happen to our war rating, war tier (tier 5), and our status like Gold 1... What would the first war back after a season off look like?

Your War Rating doesn't change. Your Bracket is determined from the time you start Seasons to the time you finish. So you will start the Season anew and Rank based on the Points you put up.

So to confirm, if we finished Gold 1 and took one season off war, would we return in Gold 1 the season after?

And alternatively, if we finished in Gold 1, then did a couple itemless wars in the following season, we could potentially end up in Silver 3 or something come season end? Them start Silver 3 the season after that?

@Chuckiesol You never start in any reward tier. You land where you land based on your point output. Let's say (just as an example) you work your way up to T3+ during the off season. You could easily start in Platinum on a win streak. If you don't advance during the off season and your war rating stays the same, you'll be starting wherever the points you get land you. Reward tiers are not held by prior performances like the old tier system in AQ. Ranks are dictated solely upon how many points you get in relation to the rest.

Add on : The Leaderboard doesn't go live until after the 1st cycle of the Season ends. So you won't know where you stand until then. Again, this is all dictated by the amount of points you accumulate throughout the Season in relation to everyone else. No particular amount of points will guarantee a slot as war outcomes are random. What got you in X tier/rank the previous Season may not land you there again. You could go up, or down dependent upon how everyone else performs throughout the Season.
