In this case they should just take the snapshot of the masteries at the time of placement.

Can I upvote this some how! I've been playing this game for 4-5 years and my champ pool is deep. I have a lot of champs that Suicides are awesome for. I also have champs where it can down right suck... like HT. Being able to switch back and forth easily is my biggest gripe in this game.
